Vehicle Detail
Yep, it's really dirty and pretty much a parts car but its a real 85k miles and has been sitting in my Dad's garage for the last 25+ years. He bought it used from the MB dealer in Cleveland in 1979 and commuted in it for a few years before it got relegated to the "weekend" car, and then on to the "gonna-get-it-running-again-someday" car sometime in the mid 80's. The car has sat and remains in the back of the garage in a suburb east of Cleveland. I'm not positive it can't be coaxed back to life but the rear right wheel is leaning in and I don't know if that's because the lugs just rusted through or if the axel gave up. The wheels themselves look ok, tires flat and basically the car is resting on blocks. The body panels all look decent under the dirt with the original green paint though I suspect there is a fair amount of rust on the under-body. The rear bumper fell off (still have it) and the bumper mounts are heavily rusted. I think the glass is all in tact and doors all close though the latches are sluggish. The interior leather and dash look to be in good shape though again, it is dirty and I didn't look real hard at it. I didn't bother with popping the hood, my Dad tells me it's stock and I assume you could get it running if you want (though it's NOT drivable in current state). Anyway, this is likely a good donor parts car if you have another project. We are looking for a quick transaction and someone who can deal with transporting a vehicle like this before Christmas as we will be away for the rest of the winter. We are unable to part this car out ourselves so it's an all-or-nothing kinda purchase. Thanks!
