RE-LISTED on 12/13/12: Car was for sale/trade locally, as well. Removed last Sun. after agreeing to a local trade for a backhoe. Could not come to terms on backhoe shipping costs (70.5 mile delivery); so, trade did not take place. The add will not be removed from ebay again, regardless. Even locals will have to make their deal here. If shipped, I will load the parts in the car very carefully, as if it were my own. Thank-you all. Re-listing here for 3 days. Will throw in the custom painted air cleaner that matches the engine paint, as a thank-you for all of the interest in the car (see pic added), removed the side by side wheel pic & added air cleaner pic. All of the information provided in last weeks' add has remained. Figured we'd list for three days in order to let people know it is for sale & then you guys can decide on the selling price from there. As before, the car can be purchased outright for $5,500. EDIT:2, Added pics of underside, Added NOTE: 2, 12/8/12 EDIT: 1, Added pics, Added NOTE: 1, 12/6/12 1966 Ford Galaxie hard top restomod, 80% complete, front disc brake upgrade, 460 cu engine, ZF 5 speed manual transmission, up/down shifting, new clutch/flywheel, new high output ignition, 9" Ford 3.70 rear end, dual dumped exhaust, lowered & raked suspension, newer used tires, "ORIGINAL" like new Ford Galaxie leather interior, front buckets w/ console, digital speedo hidden where clock was. Floors are protection coated & new carpet. Completely newly painted w/ base coat clear coat polyurethane, primer'd & sealed prior to color coat, just needs a little more wet sanding & final polish. Some filler was used in the rear quarter panels for shaping. Assembly remaining includes interior, rear window, door handles, badges, clean front brake caliper internals (they locked when we moved it to our new home) this means that the internal need to be cleaned up, final headliner fitting, digital speedo connection to trans, head & tail lights, front grill, bumpers, hood, miscellaneous. Restomod build pics will be included w/ the sale. Great nearly finished project w/ the hard work already completed for you. I have over 400 hours & $7,000 into it. Will be adding more pics as I locate the disks they're on. We recently moved & some items are still packed up. Notes: 1) AC is what I call "Car Show AC." It consists of a custom made cooler located between the trunk & rear seats. Freezer cold packs are loaded in a holding rack. A blower then circulates air through the cooler & into the passenger compartment. So, the cooler serves 2 purposes, AC & a place to hold food & drink for car shows & Family outings. 2) Up down shifter is just that. The shift lever is arranged so that instead of forward & back shifting, the lever is moved up & down to shift. Designed this way to further separate the vehicle from others. Most manual Galaxies are 4 speed top loaders. This one is truly unique being a 5 speed manual further separated by having the up/down shifting feature). * The up down shifting feature can easily be changed to the standard forward back shifting w/ an aftermarket shifter relocation kit, if the new owner wishes for a more traditional style manual shifting. 3) Engine had 79,000 miles on it & is in excellent, working, used condition. Oil pan was removed to clean & visually inspect rod/main bearings. 4) 5 Speed Ford ZF transmission is from a Ford F-150 that had 46,000 miles on it & is in excellent, working, used condition. Top & side covers were removed to clean & visually inspect. 5) Car is available to see prior to bidding. Have listed everything that I know of regarding the condition of the car. It's a great project car @ a great price. Car is sold as is & used. Will sell for the $2,000 opening bid or the higher max bid @ no reserve. Will ship @ buyers cost. Thanks for looking. NOTE: 1 (Added 12/6/12) - Car also has a brand new custom made drive shaft to suit the 460/5 speed arrangement - Engine has new water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, coolant temp switch, dual electric cooling fan - I have all of the parts not yet assembled including trim rings for wheels. Some new hardware may be needed to assemble headlights. bumpers, grille, etc. - Wanted to mention again that the engine has a completely BRAND NEW high output ignition system including, ACCEL HO coil, High output (same as MSD) controller, the required FORD Ignition control module, new distributor, rotor & cap, new wires. - Front shocks are new. - Wheels are OEM steel 15" Pontiac Rally wheels painted for stock look + chrome trim rings. Chosen due to similarity to Galaxie hubs in a single piece wheel. Car had aftermarket wheels on it when purchased. Did not come to me w/ the stock wheels. **In my reply to question below where it states that "80% work remaining" should say "80% work complete." NOTE: 2 (Added 12/8/12) -Added underside pics - Am very happy to answer questions. Please read description prior to asking. A few questions asked had already been noted in the description. - Car is painted in the tri-tone shown (noted in description). None of the pics are of the car after wet sanding. A little wet sanding & final buffing remain (noted in description). - Pics shown are of varying stages during the build, in order to give bidders a view of where the car started & what work has been completed. - Underside pics show it's current state. We did not spend a lot of time on the underside. I actually had forgotten we etched & sprayed POR15 on the underside in many places. There was & is some surface rust underneath, nothing structural. No rust on body or inside of doors. Inside of doors were treated, as well. - 20% of the work remains. Please do not buy if you are not familiar w/ what 20% of a restomod build means. $2,000 starting price is the price of an untouched roller & the buyer is getting $7,000 of money spent & 400 hours of the build. Although, we are happy to sell (we need money toward a backhoe), would prefer not to sell to a buyer with inexperienced expectations. Thank-you all for the interest.
