Vehicle Detail

I am only selling this because I bought it in February 2011 with the intentions of making it into a flat black rat rod/cruiser type vehicle(exterior only...interior is too nice to mess up) and never have got around to it, and at this point I probably won't. We have 7 vehicles including this one, and a few of them have to go. I am in the process of buying my teenage daughter a car, so that will only add to the crowd. I'm probably going to take a loss, but at this point we just need the space more than the car. I have put the maximum number of pictures Ebay will allow, but I have about 10 more available...if you want me to email them to you, just let me know. This is my second listing for it on Ebay...I recently had it on here at a minimum bid of 1500.00. I have reduced that to 1250.00 for this auction...I just need to move it...literally & figuratively. I'm not much of a believer in a blind reserve...I think you should tell someone what the least is you are willing to take for something(1250.00 is definitely the least), and let the chips fall where they may...that's a fair transaction. If it doesn't sell this time, I'm going to give it to a family member, a charity, or just put it beside the road close to where I live for sale. Someone that saw the auction contacted me today(12-12)saying if I'd take 1000.00, they would come and get it right now...I respectfully declined. I think anyone truly looking to buy this knows it's really worth more than what I'm asking. The interior is probably the cleanest of any late 80's/early 90's(truly used)SUV you will find. Here's what I know on the history of the vehicle...it was bought new by a retired gentleman and he had it for 14-15 years. Not long after he passed away, his family sold it to a friend of his who was also retired....I bought it from him. The only reason he sold it was because he used it sometimes to pull his pop up camper, and when he purchased a new camper a couple years ago, he bought a Super Duty Ford to pull it since it was a larger fifth wheel type. The vehicle has never been in an accident, but the 2 front fenders and the hood were painted a few years ago due to paint fade...it was parked in a carport for years that exposed the front, back, and the driver's side...you can see the clearcoat/paint deterioration on the driver's side and back in a couple of the pictures. You will notice 2 pictures showing a dent on the front fender and a dent in the passenger door close to the mirror....the passenger side window will only go down an inch or 2 now because of it, and that issue could probably be fixed pretty easy by pulling the dent back out. A tree on the hillside beside our house fell last year making these 2 dents along with a couple places you can see it rubbed/burned the paint off when it hit. It also cracked the windshield which I had replaced by Guardian in August 2011 at a cost of 175.00. Issues: AC doesn't blow cold, but the man I got it from says he had to charge it about once a year and it worked fine....I can't confirm either way though. Seems like front driver's side caliper may be sticking a little...he put new front brakes on it shortly before I got it, and I've only put about 100 miles on it in almost 2 years, so it may be OK once it is driven a little more. It could be that they just need to be bled(?)(I'm going to look into fixing this on Saturday Dec 15th) Couple cracks on the top of the dash...typical issue. I took these pictures Saturday(Dec 1st) and as you can tell the driver's door is open...when I tried to unlock the driver's door the next day, it wouldn't unlock for some reason....this is the first time I've had this happen....it's trying to unlock, but the pin just won't come up...seems like it's getting caught on something...should be an easy fix by taking off the door panel, but I haven't looked at it...I just slid in from the passenger side...easy to do with the column shifter, etc.(I'm going to look into fixing this on Saturday Dec 15th) One broken wheel stud on driver's front...I have a brand new stud and lug nut still in the bag in the glove box. Good Issues: Interior is in fantastic condition....not one tear or seam rip in any of the seats that I can think of. No stains to even speak of on the seats. Transmission rebuilt and a B&M Shift Kit installed about 3 years ago(per previous owner) Has true dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers(has a deep rumble, but 2 stock type mufflers could be put on for 100.00-125.00 or so if you wanted more of a factory sound instead). He said his son took it a year or so before I got it and had them installed as a birthday gift when he was out of town one day. New radiator and hoses put on just before I purchased it...I could tell it was pretty much brand new just by looking at it and the hoses...you can see the stickers on the hoses in the pictures. Motor idles and runs great...you will be very surprised just how smooth it is. I bought this originally with the intent of not having to do anything mechanically and just paint it...that's why I got this particular Suburban....great interior, motor in great shape, sounds good, etc. Newer battery...about a year old. New windshield, so no old hazy glass to try to see through....new wipers as well...they got bent by the tree too. All window switches work, power locks work, all lights/blinkers work, power mirrors work correctly, cruise control functional(from memory), radio works(speakers ain't too good though). It has an aftermarket alarm on it, and I have the keyfob...I unhooked it back when I got it because I didn't want to drain the battery, but he did say it worked(I'm not sure one way or the other though), and he used it when they went camping or traveling and were carrying their gear with them. I start it and let it run a while once a week or so, and go through the gears just to keep everything lubricated. I just put a fuel sending unit(including pump)on it. The previous owner installed a trailer brake and a column mounted tach....he said he wanted to be as easy on the vehicle as possible, even though the camper didn't weigh all that much. Comes with Original Window Sticker...just a neat thing. I have bought and sold 9-10 cars on Ebay over the last few years, and you may wonder why I've went into so much detail on a vehicle in this price range. I just want to be as thorough and honest as I can on any vehicle, whether it be 1500.00 or 10000.00. Money ain't easy to come by these days, and I respect that. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. I will check the auction several times each day and get back to you promptly. I encourage you to come look at it if you want....just let me know and we'll arrange a time. You can call me at 304-784-6680. If you don't have a Paypal account, that is OK...we can just arrange for full payment to be made at the time you pick up the vehicle. Thanks for looking. On Dec-15-12 at 14:58:46 PST, seller added the following information: December 15th... The issue with the driver's door not opening has been resolved. Didn't get to bleed the brakes...home by myself today...didn't have anyone available to pump pedal.
