Up for auction is a 1965 Corvette Convertible 4 speed Project that has been stored since 1980 I recently found this car sitting in a garage for 33 years. The car was original Red on Red and was stripped & repainted maroon in the mid 70's and a custom tan interior was added then also. The previous owner started doing a frame off restoration in 1980 and the body was unbolted from the frame and the motor was completely rebuilt at a cost of $1800 in 1984 by a local engine rebuilder (I have the invoice) and has not been started (I put a wrench on the front crankshaft and it turns over free) The trans was rebuilt a year before it was parked the motor is a 350 V8 #3970010 and the 4 speed trans is a Muncie #3925660 with a Hurst shifter that needs to be installed. The white canvas top will need replacing. Top metal frame is nice and rust free. The body will need to be bolted and shimmed down to the frame. The frame is in good shape with only 1 small repair at the end of the driver side frame rail (See Picture) other than that it is solid. The bird cage is very nice too. The body is damage free but will need paint. (Underside of all body panels look un-hit) Only thing I did see is the top lip on the rear quarter panels is missing a small section (Approximately 5") on both sides due to the oversize rear tires hitting and the hood hinge area on both sides has been repaired. I did not clean or wash the car this is the way I pulled it on my trailer from Garage storage of 33 years. This would be a great car to restore back to Red exterior and Red interior or a great body for a Resto Mod which ever you prefer. All the parts that are included with the car are seen in the last 2 pictures. (No front bumpers they were removed in the 70's) The headlight motors are still in the car and turn free. Again this is a project car that needs to be completely restored and is not drivable at this time. You will need to get a ignition key made it was misplaced after all the years of storage also the hood, rear deck and seats are not bolted down. Mileage reads 29030 No Reserve!
