Vehicle Detail

HELLO TO ALL. THIS IS OUR 1964 1/2 FORD MUSTANG COUPE, ORIGINAL F-CODE 260 V8 CAR WITH RALLY PAC, ADDED GT OPTIONS AND MAGNUM 500 WHEELS THAT IS READY FOR A NEW OWNER TO ENJOY. My husband and I purchased it in Ohio a couple of years ago, while down there for the classic car show in Springfield. We always loved the 65-66 Coupe body styles for their simplicity, and were lucky enough to find a real 1964 1/2 Mustang F-Code that had been partially restored by the previous owner. When we got it home we garaged it and did some work to the car here and there in our spare time. The restoration work was done within the last few years and included a new paintjob (driver quality), NEW floorboards, NEW partial interior (dash pad, carpet, door panels and other minor things), NEW wheels/tires (magnum 500s), engine detailling and dressing up and adding some GT options. Mechanically it has been recently tuned, NEW fuel pump, NEW gas tank, NEW fuel lines and some other minor things. Body is very nice and straight with very few waves in it. Doors open and close fairly. Gaps are all decent from what I could see and panel fit is pretty good overall for an old Ford. OPTIONS: Manual steering Manual drum brakes Rally Pac Standard bucket seat interior UPGRADED 289ci motor C4 automatic transmission Single exhaust 14" Magnum 500 wheels with white letter radial tires Mechanically the original 260 is long gone, replaced by a 289 but still retaining the original 64 1/2 generator. Starts right up and sounds great with NO smoke. Transmission shifts great. Brakes work but are low and could use a new master cylinder and bleeding the lines. Now as for driving the car, i've taken it out mostly around the neighborhood here and there since I didn't get a chance to fix everything the way I wanted it. Overall very sound and reliable car that can be used daily with very minor adjustments. Interior has had a NEW carpet installed a couple of years ago, NEW door panels, NEW dash pad. Seats look very presentable. Decent headliner. Steering wheel has a couple of cracks as is usual with these. Overall a fairly presentable driver quality interior. Underside is very nice and dry overall, being an original Ohio car. Floorboards were replaced and properly welded from what I could see. Good torque boxes still in one piece. Good shock towers. Rear frame rails look presentable with some "puffiness". Front frame rails do show some rust through and will need a little work down the line. Overall, other than the NEW floorboards, a typical Mustang underside. THIS 1964 1/2 FORD MUSTANG IS NOT PERFECT, SO PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES, ASK QUESTIONS OR COME SEE IT IN PERSON. Paint is in fairly GOOD shape overall and cleans up WELL for a presentable driver with normal imperfections from everyday use and a few chips here and there. Panel fit is not perfect but looks good overall, although if you want it perfect you might have to do some better aligning. Could use brake servicing as mentioned (just a new master and bleeding the lines should work). Not working: radio, horn, rally pac (not connected), couple of dash gauges may not read properly, fog lights (not connected), perhaps a bulb or two may need replacing as I didn't get around to it yet. Needs weatherstripping for doors and windows at least. Front side window frames a bit loose and need adjusting, as do the front windows. Needs felt strips for doors. Could use new rear leaf springs as well. There may be various other small issues with it, as with any other old car, and i'm not gonna sit here and list them all as it would be no point. So overall she is nowhere near perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. If you just want a NICE presentable DRIVER needing some tlc and finishing touches, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some investment to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO. AT THE VERY LEAST TAKE A LOOK AT ALL THE ADDITIONAL PICTURES ON THE LINK ABOVE.
