I am selling my 1980 Cbx that has been sitting for about a year. I have had this for 4 years and a year ago completely went through the bike so please do not let the milage fool you. The bike was all original when I got it,it just needed some tlc. I installed a 1981 cbx front fender and still have the original if you would like it. The original fender needs some repair to the bottom back side and repainted as someone had a oversized tire on it and it wore through. The left exhaust pipe at the muffler has been repaired on the bottom side. I went through everything front to rear. Everything has been cleaned,repainted or if bad replaced. New wheel bearings and seals front and rear,new front tire,rebuilt all calipers,both brake master cylinders,all new brake pads,throttle cables,mirrors,seat cover and strap,forks rebuilt with nos springs and slider bushings,oil and seals,I rebuilt the engine (I am an old honda m/c mechanic), head was disassembled,valve seats touched up with Neway cutters,valves were in great condition and were lapped in,new valve seals, valves adjusted,spark plugs,plug caps,new rings,(piston to cylinder wall clearence is .0025" on all cylinders),cleaned and reused the original pistons,new wristpins , circlips, rod and main bearings (did not need them but since I was there I started with new), chains and tensioners were in great condition, new alternator brushes, bearings, new spark advance, six carb intake manifolds, crankcase breather tube and of coarse all gaskets , seals ,orings,carbs have been disassembled,cleaned,new carb kits and needles and seats,DynoJet kit installed, previous owner had replaced rear tire (approx 75% tread left) also chain and sprockets.The swing arm was removed and bearings cleaned and greased. I have the original paint codes for this color so I stripped the old original paint and repainted the tank, front fender,side covers and rear tail section using Sikkens automotive products,the tank emblems are the originals to this bike but I did use new decals on the tank ,side covers and tail section. The original owners manual and pouch is still in the right side cover. Tank is clean inside no rust and has not been fueled since it was painted. There is some minor battery acid staining on the left muffler and bracket. All electrics are in working condition,new oil cooler lines,needs timing set, the motor has new oil and filter but has never been started. I see the battery has started to sulfate so I will supply a new battery. I was going to ride this in the summer but the way people drive here I hate to put it on the road. Included is a Honda shop manual and Dyno jet kit with the oem carb parts. Also included is the Vetter Vindicator fairing which was mounted on the bike. It needs a new windshield (slipstreamer),edging and windshield foam is available from craigvetter.com,and the left soft pocket. Purchaser must make shipping arrangements.
