I am the second owner since 1995 of this 1993 Mazda RX7 twin-turbo coupe with the premium Touring trim and accessory package and 5-speed manual transmission. This is one of the purest sports cars ever made by any manufacturer, and they are becoming very difficult to find in STOCK condition, like this one. This car has not been modified, "upgraded", hacked up or customized in any way. This is an absolutely 100% STOCK RX7. This car has always been garaged, serviced and maintained properly by me. The car has never been raced, driven hard or abused. Only one time did I take it to 140 mph just to see how it felt. Amazing, solid as a rock and at that speed it hadn’t yet got into the second turbo which comes in at 5,000 rpm. This RX7 with the premium Touring Package has the following equipment and options: 1.3L intercooled sequential twin-turbocharged rotary engine (Engine Replaced at 146,300 miles) 5-speed manual transmission Leather seats A/C (works great) ABS brakes Driver's airbag Power windows and locks Cruise control Bose Acoustic Wave Stereo Music System W/CD Player Power tilt/slide sunroof Rear window wiper/washer Removable rear cargo cover Halogen fog lights I have the original books, manuals and promotional literature that came from the dealer with the car as well as several extra keys. The engine was replaced at 146,300 miles with a rebuilt one from Pineapple Racing of Portland Oregon. http://www.pineappleracing.com/customrebuildingsvcs.aspx This engine has only 14,300 miles on it since installed in 2006. It was rebuilt to factory stock specifications with no modifications for extra horsepower which would reduce its durability and fuel economy. I wanted it to last and its performance in stock condition is already super. Pineapple Racing only does premium rebuilds which includes BRAND NEW HOUSINGS, unlike many rebuilders who use used housings. This ensures the highest durability and reliability of the motor, although it adds over $1,000 to the cost of the rebuild. I recently had my local Mazda Specialty Shop check the car over and their compression test confirmed the motor is in very good condition. The turbochargers have 59,300 miles on them and operate normally; however at high rpm the boost is down about 1 PSI from optimal. Possibly a restriction in the pre catalytic converter in exhaust system. http://www.mazdasonly.com/ There are no warning lights on, gauges read normal factory recommended values. This car is a pleasure to drive. It is powerful, comfortable and drives and stops well. The air conditioning has been recently serviced and works well. This car has recently had its brake system and wheel bearings inspected and were determined to be in good condition New tires were installed less than 1,000 miles ago along with a new battery. The original aluminum wheels are in excellent condition. Cosmetically, this car looks superb for its age. The panels are straight, clean and the car looks beautiful. No door dent dings. There is no body rust, always garaged. Minor paint nicks, mostly in the clear coat from normal driving. See the pictures for a small ding above passenger side door and scuff in front of right front wheel. The interior of the car is very clean and in excellent condition. The carpets and dash panels are clean and in very good condition. The leather seats have been cleaned and they look excellent with only slight wear on the driver’s side. No tears, splits, failing seams or gouges.Included is a CD Copy of the ENTIRE FACTORY SHOP MANUAL. Every question you may ever have on this car is answered in the manual. Hundreds of pages. See photos.Comes with factory car cover. See photos. This is not a perfect car or a show car. This is a 19-year old car; please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car. This car is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. The inside handle on the passenger side is loose and requires the interior door trim to be removed to fix. The Bose amplifier is not working properly and requires repair. The motorized antenna does not operate however I will provide with the car a good used antenna I presently have. After sitting there are several drops of oil on the floor below the turbos. I’m told by my mechanic it is not uncommon when the second turbo is not used often enough during hard exceleration, which I don’t do much that oil that normally seeps from its bearing and is burned off internally by the hot gasses accumulates in the turbo body and seeps out. This is the cause of the drip. Since it is on the underside of the turbo this also causes a slight hot oil smell immediately after shutting down. There is some oil smear on the underside of the motor which my mechanic also says is common and not an issue needing repair. Fog lights do not work and I assume it is a switch. At one time I had to replace the Alternator and found it very expensive due to it being special to the rotary engine. I have a good used one I will include with the car for future use if needed. Overall this is a clean example of a very limited-production sports car that is becoming more and more difficult to find each year in this stock condition. Many have been modified drastically that make them less reliable and very difficult to troubleshoot due to non standard parts. At soon to be 20 years old they are becoming true collector cars, especially since it appears no new rotary powered cars will be made after the RX8 ceases production.
