Vehicle Detail

i am the second owner the bike runs good. has a small head gasket leak, that it seams all of these get. it has new tires, and brakes, plugs, and airfliter. starts right up. it is all origanial 13800 miles and a lot of fun to ride. it was going to be my winter project as you dont have to pull the engine to do the gasket just the tank. also you can make it a cafe racer for three hundred dollars as it seams to be realy popular for that i bought a complet gasket set, oil seal set, cam chain, carb kits, front fork seals (their pretty good but it is 34 years old)and the manual i figuer if your going to open it up change the parts as you pass them, also i wanted to polish all the covers.the only thing else i ws going to change was the rings they are 30 dollars. all of this stuff comes with the bike that is 300 dollars worth of stuff. the bike does run their is nothing broken in it. after building a cb750 bobber i was looking foward to this working on this 2 cylinder i am selling this bike becouse i lost my job and need to fix my daily ridder so i have a ride to my new job i have thirteen hundred into this bike so please dont try to get me to go lower then the start price. thank you for looking and please bid it is christmas ya know The Honda CB400T was a parallel twin engined motorcycle made by Honda beginning in 1978. Having introduced the first four-cylinder motorbikes for the 350; 400; 500; 550 and 750 -classes, Honda seemed to take a step back with this parallel twin with classic 360° crank-layout. Nevertheless the engine showed to be reliable and sturdy and was to be a long living design used in all Honda's 400 & 450 twins for the next 10-15 years. The distinctive engine, came with a 360° crank; Heavy over-squared cylinder-layout; 3-valve design of the combustion chamber, tandem balance-shafts in the front left side of the engine and CDI ignition. Beside of this, during time, almost classic engine, the CB400T also introduced the so called "Com-Star" compound aluminum-rims, using tubeless tires for the first time - This together with the other models of same year mounted with the remarkable Com-Star rims! The rather stubby design of the CB400T changed when Honda short after introduced the new "Euro-line" -design with the CB900 Bol d'Or. In the meantime it was launched in a version with the same design as the CX500 costume: The CM400. Later was the engine changed to 450ccm in the hunt for bigger torque, meanwhile the power remained the same. CB400TII The CB400TII'78 was sold in 1978 in one of two colors: Tahitian Red or Candy Sapphire Blue. The gas tank and side cover stripes were black and orange. The instruments had both a speedometer and a tachometer. The bike had comstar wheels rather than wire spokes. The front brake was a hydraulic operated disc. It had both an electric starter and a kickstarter. The engine was a 395cc OHC 3-valve parallel twin with dual carburetors. The transmission was a 5-speed. It came with both a side kick-stand and a center-stand. The serial number began CB400T-4000048. Engine Specifications The 1979 Honda Hawk has a parallel twin-cylinder, three-valve-per-cylinder engine with a 360-degree crank layout and dual carburetors. This 395 cc engine has a top speed of 106 mph and an average fuel consumption of 48.5 mpg. Transmission, Suspension and Brakes The transmission for the 1979 Honda Hawk is a five-speed chain drive. The motorcycle employs telescopic forks for its front suspension and dual EVO dampers with five-way spring preload adjustment for its rear suspension. The front wheel uses a single disk brake, while the rear wheel uses a drum brake. Design and Appearance The 1979 Honda Hawk CB-400T came in two models: the CB-400TI and the CB-400TII. The TI model came in red or black, had wheels with wire spokes, offered a speedometer and used a kick starter. The motorcycle didn't offer a tachometer or electric start. The TII model came in red or blue, had comstar wheels, offered both a speedometer and a tachometer, and used both a kick starter and an electric starter.
