1949 Studebaker - Family owned since 1955, this truck was purchased by Ike Ball, a Fresno area rancher when the truck was just 6 years old. Remarkably the truck has stayed in the family for the last 58 years.Here is the history of this 1949 Studebaker Pickup:Ranching ledgion, Ike Ball, purchased this truck from the Mack Lazarous dealership located in Kerman California in 1955. Ike used this pickup on his grain and cattle ranch located just north of Fresno, California. The trucks primary use was hauling a diesel tank out to refuel his combine and Caterpillar tractor during summer harvest and fall discing. Ike Ball passed away at the age of 86 in 2002. Ike's grandson, Rick Erickson, also a rancher at the family spread, had been very close to his grandfather all his life. Rick took an interest in the old Studebaker and decided to restore the old truck to her former glory.Rick was in the process of restoring it when he passed away in an automobile accident in 2012. The family has decided to sell the Studebaker and donate all proceeds to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fresno County, in loving memory of Rick Erickson. We hope our Studie goes to someone who will complete the restoration project and enjoy her for many years.Here are some details:The engine has been started but no rebuild has been done on it.All the original glass is included but not installed on the truck.As you can see in the photos, the underside of the truck has light rust, but there does not appear to be any structural damage.We have the original license plate and title (see photos).We have the tailgate and bench seat but they are not installed in the truck.The body is in remarkably good shape but obviously needs trim pieces and paint.The interior likewise needs trim pieces.Please let us know if you need any additional information or would like to schedule a visit to inspect the truck.Thanks and hope you bid on her.
