Up for auction is a beautiful 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS Convertible. This car is in great condition. The body is strait as an arrow. The paint is very nice with just a few minor chips and scratches that you really have to search for. There is one spot bubbled a little in the front corner of the hood, and one small one in one of the doors. I took pics of those spots, but they are hard to see.Lots of new chrome and aluminum that would look better if someone with more patience than me spent some time cleaning. The engine is a 307 from a 68 but the car is badged as it came from the factory as a 283. Not sure exactly when it was swapped. Motor and trans work fine. Starts up, shifts good, and drives down the road. Has a 2-barrel with headers and flowmaster dual exhaust. Power steering and power brakes. The floors are solid, underbody is undercoated, and inner body has all been repainted red when exterior was painted. Paint is over a year old. Tons of new trim including, rockers, wheel opening mldgs, all emblems, bumpers, grill, hood spear, w/s trim, trunk trim, all lights, convertible top, upholstery, carpet, brake lines, weatherstrip. The list can go on and on. Still has 4 wheel drum brakes.The car needs some minor fit and finish work in the interior and guage cluster. Not sure if the guages are working properly. Wipers are not working. The speedo shows 94000, but it not the original. The original showed 59000 but was seized up and replaced. The convertible top motor works, but needs a cleaning because it gets very hot. I have been opening the top manually without problem. I know some people will hate the wheels. They are 20"x10" in the back and 20"x8" in the front. I will deduct $1000 from the final auction price if the winner would rather get it with rollers. The wheels are a bit much for the car, but some people love em. The car could use the front end rebuilt, and some shocks. The radiator is leaking, but I have an aluminum one on order and it will be installed by the end of this auction. I have driven the car around town and had no mechanical issues. All of the lights except the backups are working. There has only been about 400 miles put on this car since it was restored over a year ago. Not many of that color combo were made, especially with a V8. The title is clear and in my name and ready for the new owner. Reserve is very reasonable for this beast of a car.
