Vehicle Detail
OK, you win!! My loss is your gain!! Need to raise some cash so I'm relisting at a MUCH lower price, with NO RESERVE!! Desperate times call for desperate measures... this is a steal!! Let this be your chance to a great custom for a GREAT PRICE!! Up for sale is a one-of-a-kind 1954 Chevy that I’ve tinkered on and driven “unfinished” for years. It's custom body modifications include 55 Chevy headlights, 57 Chevy grille insert, 58 Chevy rear roof scoop and 59 Caddy taillights, along with many other modifications. I’ve been into Kustom cars and street rods for decades and I’ve NEVER seen another one done like this! The hard part has been done so take it to the next level and turn some heads as you drive around! CLEAR MASSACHUSETTS TITLE. LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT THE CAR: When I first picked it up in the late 1980's It was a typical stock New England car with a good deal of rust and rot. I was in the military at that time so it sat outside on a farm for many years until I returned home in the late 90's and drug it's rusted carcass into my garage and began to rebuild it in my spare time. I do metal fabrication and metal art, so all of the rot repairs and custom sheet metal fabrications were MIG welded in 18 gauge sheet metal. There is some body filler on this car but all repairs and modifications were done in metal. Since getting it to a drivable state, I've only driven it about 5-10 times a year and I've never driven it on a trip longer than 150 miles. . . would just cruise it to shows or around town and smoke the tires when my kids asked me to. :) I'm in the middle of doing some cleanup work and work to the interior, and there are some misc interior parts that come with it. Otherwise, "what you see is what you get." I have a picture of the car with Coker wide white walls tires but they DO NOT COME WITH THE CAR. I only included that picture so that you can see what the car looks like with wide whites. The rally rims with custom center caps come with the car. Although the car is off to a great start it still needs some work so I will try to describe this car as best as possible and highlight all that is wrong (or needs to be finished) below so that you are given as honest a description as possible. SPECS ABOUT THE CAR: Body: 1954 Chevy 210 Sedan base body painted with black Sherwin Williams Dimension basecoat/clearcoat, with 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear. The paint looks great but there are a few small runs in the paint, some dust specks, and the paint could use some more final buffing. Otherwise, it came out really straight and looks awesome! All body modifications were done in 18-gauge steel. Body modifications include: 1. 1955 Chevy headlights 2. 1957 Chevy grille insert/blinkers 3. Custom grille surround 4. Nosed hood 5. Front fender openings sectioned 2" 6. 1958 Chevy rear roof scoop 7. Customized rear quarters with 1959 Cadillac taillights 8. Steel rear fender flares (similar to 55 Chevy) for wider tires (I used to have wider tires on it) 9. Custom frenched license plate with bolt holes to accept newer and older license plate sizes 10. Most exterior trim was removed and holes welded shut. 11. New chrome door handles 12. New Bumper Boys chrome rear bumper with "smoothed" hidden bolts. Drivetrain: Stock Chevy 350 with a Weiand 4B intake and I believe it's a Holley 650, with vacuum secondaries. Has some chrome and a custom air cleaner that is a piece of artwork in and of itself . The transmission is a stock TH350 with a B&M shifter that I customized to make it look like a standard shifter from the 60's. The rear end is a stock 10 bolt from a 1978 Z-28 Camaro. IMPORTANT -- For 15 years I had a 350/350HP motor with tripower in the car until I spun a bearing last year. So I just threw this stock 350 in the car and although it runs strong, it has a "tick" that sounds like it may have a bad lifter or cam, or it could be a wrist pin or piston slap. The noise gets quiet when the engine warms up but it doesn't completely go away. Could probably drive it for years with no problems or you may want to investigate and repair. Suspension: Has a front subframe from a 1978 Z-28 Camaro with disc brakes, power steering, power brakes, and powder coated "lowering" coil springs to give it a nice ride-height. Wheels are late 60's to mid-70's Pontiac rally rims with custom, one-of-a-kind stainless steel center caps to give them a Mad Max/Rat Rod look but not too "ratty". . . kinda leaves the wheels with that old "Halibrand Sprint" look. They are definitely bad-ass looking! Interior: Late 60's Camaro tilt column with original 54 Chevy steering wheel, SunPro gauges, 1964 Pontiac GTO Bucket seats (Driver's seat has two tears in it), Black side panels NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR FINISHED: 1. There's no emergency brake 2. There is no horn 3. I don't have keys for the doors or the trunk 4. There are no seatbelts 5. There's no heat or A/C 6. The passenger side rear axle seal is leaking 7. The interior is not finished and there's no rug or headliner (but the headliner rods are in place and in good shape) 8. There's no radio 9. Some small rot spots remain on the trunk floor and other inconspicuous areas of the floor boards and undercarriage areas 10. The engine noise described above and on the video below ADDITIONAL TERMS: If you have less than 10 feedbacks on your profile, please contact me before bidding or I may cancel your bid. If you become the high bidder I will check your feedback and if you have too many negative feedbacks, I will reach out to you for an explanation. If the explanation is shakey, I may cancel your bid. I would suggest picking it up as soon as possible. Contact me to arrange for storage of greater than 7 days beyond auction close. I’ve done the best I can to describe the good, the bad and the ugly and I’ve put a reasonable reserve price on it, to reflect the work that still needs to be done. Please look at the pictures and ask questions and good luck bidding!! Although I’ve highlighted a lot of the bad above, the car is really a cool looking one of a kind ride that is fun to drive and turns heads everywhere it goes! Here's a Video of the Car
