Vehicle Detail
This sweet bright yellow Stingray Corvette is an extremely rare car. Out of the 46,558 '76 Corvettes produced, 12% came with the optional L82 V-8, and only 4% had the M21 four speed. This one has both. The high collectible value is very well appreciated but what you really gain from the L82 and M21 combination is a uniquely sensational driving experience. The L82 engine produces 210 hp - 17% more than the base model. It has special heads with larger valves, impact-extruded pistons, and finned aluminum rocker covers. This V-8 engine sounds absolutely amazing and revs effortlessly. Its peak power comes at 5,200 rpm (base model starts loosing it at 4,000 rpm). The close ratio manual gear box with 2.64:1 first enables L82 to run freely and accelerate hard, making it a fantastic driving machine that complements its sound and sensational C3 design. This Corvette comes with the optional power windows and steering, tilt-telescopic steering wheel and original radio - all works perfectly. The Stingray has only 58,000 carefully driven miles and is absolutely original in every little detail. When was the last time you saw a corvette that still has the original vinyl T-tops covers? It really feels like a '70 time bubble. It's great mechanically too- I personally drove it from Cleveland to New York and back. It was as dependable as it was fun to drive. It has a fresh clutch. The original '76 plastic bumpers obviously did their thing but new and more rigid fiberglass bumpers are out there for affordable prices. The paint looks decent and looks great from a few feet but I would give this incredible Corvette the fresh paint it deserves. The body is great and the lines are straight as you can see in the photos. There is a crack under the armrest between the seats, but it’s not visible due to the cushion. Besides that, it’s all-original interior is beautiful. As for giving this baby a fresh coat of paint, I got a great estimate from the best specialist body shop I know, and they are willing to extend that same offer to the buyer. For only 3,500, I will ship this beauty with a fresh new shiny coat. All you have to do is add a bow and have the ultimate Christmas present for yourself or for a very special loved one. The car is being sold as-is with no warranty, however, you are very welcome to come and check the car out yourself or send a professional. On Nov-26-12 at 14:15:03 PST, seller added the following information: I just inserted 2 photos: 1- The engine bay- showing the original factory engine.2- Photo from under the car- showing no rust but a bit of surface and a clean and straight frame. I would also like to underline that:The car has matching numbers!
