Vehicle Detail
1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500, 5 spd o.d. only 73k miles, older restoration, in great shape, runs 100%. New Ansa Split dual exhaust system sound nice. The interior is very clean, looks like new, the paint is in great shape there is one hairline crack in the paint on the hood but the rest looks and shines great, the top is in good shape but there are some small tears by the side plastic window but it is parked on my lot and it does not get wet when it rains, there are very small spots that could be sewn with a needle and black thread and you would never know they were there. I just want to be honest and clear as possible with the description. Looks like the car was originally yellow from the paint on the inside of the trunk, but when they did the repaint it was a professional job, door jams, under hood everything except the trunk was painted for some reason! This was NOT a quick paint job it looks and shines nice! No rust that I can find on it, floors are in great shape, looks to be garage kept most of it's life even after the restoration. Another reason I want to sell it is because I have no more room in my garage and don't want to keep it outside. There is a canvas cover in the trunk and some misc. stuff that came with the car in a box in the trunk. I took this vehicle in on trade, drove it around for a while and don't have room for it in my garage or I would keep it for next summer. Fun little car, feels like your driving a go-kart! Minor issues to point out: The emergency brake is not working, I think it may need a new cable. The Electronic Overdrive is not engaging, I was told it is most likely the switch but I know nothing about these cars. It has a kill switch under the dash that I am pretty sure is not factory but is a great theft deterrent. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due via PayPal immediately at the end of the auction the rest is due in cash at time of pickup. I'd prefer to have it picked up within 7 days but am negotiable. The PA title is in my business name and will be signed and notarized to you once payment is received. You are welcome to come take a look at the vehicle in person before bidding. I want this to be a smooth transaction so please email any questions or for more pics. I did not do the restoration so I can only tell you what I know about the vehicle by driving it and seeing it in person. The engine is strong and looks to have been rebuilt. Clutch grabs great, no grinding of gears, tires are in great shape. You can jump in this car and drive it the day you buy it. I put a few hundred trouble free miles on it and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere, however it will need the overdrive button issue to be looked at so it will lower the rev's on the highway. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
