Vehicle Detail
This 1969 Opel was purchased new on 4/29/70 at Murray Motor Co. a Buick dealer in Monroe, GA. I haven't done much research on this but the original tires were replaced in 1980 with the BR70-13 Daytona tires seen in one of the pics. These tires still have good tread but are not safe due to bad weather checks but are on the original rims. The second owner purchased the car around 2006 and never turned in the original title since Georgia doesn't require titles for older cars. He gave me the original title and I didn't send it in when I titled it here in Indiana. So now it is currently titled in Indiana. The new owner will get the current Indiana title and the open original Georgia title which at this point is just historic documentation. It has the original Kadett dealer guide in great shape and the Opel New Vehicle Warranty Plan book with what I would call the "Protecto Plate" the name matching the original title. The second owner had it painted which it looks nice but not done to factory specs. This is a very solid car. It has had some rust repair under the battery and a small area on the passenger side floor. Driver side floor is nice and so is the trunk including the spare tire well as seen in the pics. Paint does have a poorly done touch up on the driver side rear quarter panel. Seats are original and in good shape as would be expected for a 43,000 mile car but the rear seat is damaged on the top edge from sun. It is a factory Rallye car with some rare options, like the original vinyl top, radio delete, and automatic transmission. It of course has the "normal" Rallye items like factory tachometer, under dash gauge pack, driving lights (that work), and rear sway bar. I bought the car last year in Atlanta, GA and drove it home at 70-75 mph. Since then I have put a new webber carb. plug wires, plugs, electric ignition, fuel pump, header and new exhaust, and rebuilt the front calipers. I also purchased a carpet kit that I never finished installing as seen in the pics. I would trust it to drive anywhere other than the tires. The tires on the crome rims that are currently on the car also have weather checks, however they did make the 700 mile trip home last year. Now it does have a vibration between 45mph and 60mph its not bad around 70-75mph. I was going to put the original rims back on it with new tires but never got to it and I have moved on to another project. It is now time to sell this one. Please ask questions before bidding or better yet come check it out and take it for a drive. It is sold as is and must be picked up in north east Indiana. A non refundable $500 deposit made via Pay-Pal within 24hrs of auction end and balance in CASH when car is picked up within 14 days of auction end, no exceptions. Thanks for looking Brian 260-668-6192
