Vehicle Detail

Hello, up for auction is my 1951 Mercury Coupe Mild Custom with modern updating. Clean and clear Illinois title. Ready to go to a new home. Everything has been gone through on this car. All items on the car basically new. I got this car as a rolling project last titled and registered in 1989! The original odometer in the car showed 61,xxx miles. Doors all lock with the use of the factory keys as well as the glovebox. All glass is in mint shape, all door seals, window seals, sweeps and weatherstripping is nice and seals perfectly. Doors open and close like brand new as do all of the windows. BODY: Body is extremely clean, no rust, sanded down to almost all bare metal and some dings taken out out here and there, all side body trim removed and holes welded up, rear quarters were solid mounted and are now seamless for a cleaner look. Gas door welded and shave, filler neck relocated inside trunk. Trunklid shaved of all items and electronic popper installed. All front sheet metal has been welded up as one piece. Night Prowlers frenched headlight kit with stainless rings. Gene Winfield smooth splash pan is installed. Shaved taillights and flush mounted taillights were installed. All chrome and stainless is in excellent shape. I have a very nice 1955 Desoto grille complete for this car that can go with for the right trade, also a set of dummy spotlights never installed. INTERIOR: Interior extremely clean and is all complete and stock with the exception of the carpet which I replaced with new and the dash bezel which is a Gene Winfield polished aluminum insert designed to be able to use a 5 piece gauge set. There are some very old vinyl seat covers hog ringed over the factory seats and the original material is in mint shape under them! DETAILS: Runs and drives excellent, steers really nice, tight and responsive. Stops smooth. Was at Iron Invasion in Woodstock Illinois this year. Highway worthy and floats down the highway at 75mph. 1996 S-10 Blazer 4x4 rear axle, new wheel cylinders, brake hardware, shoes, drums and fluid. 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe Vortec 5.7L 350 engine. Edelbrock Intake, Edelbrock Carburetor, HEI Distributor, Weiend chrome air cleaner. It is a remanned engine purchased from a friend, installed for 7 months and then the truck was involved in an accident. I purchased the engine from him. 150PSI on each cylinder & 50+ PSI oil pressure, runs excellent! 1993 Chevrolet Caprice interceptor 700R4 automatic transmission with 60k miles shifts perfect. New custom built driveshaft from Driveshafts Unlimited. New dual exhaust from front to back from manifolds all the way past the rear bumper. (all straight pipe, sounds mean!) New Rebel Wiring 8 circuit harness cleanly installed throughout. New Rebel Wiring 700R4 electric converter lockup kit. Butch's Cool Stuff SBC to stock Mercury crossmember mounting kit. (nothing was cut, hacked or modified to install and of the Chevrolet drivetrain so it could be put back to original at any time) New bushings from Rock Auto and shackles from Butch Cool Stuff installed on real leaf springs. New Fatman Fabrication dual master cylinder adapter bracket. New 1970 Chevrolet C-10 dual master cylinder installed. New brake lines install from front to back. New steel fuel lines installed from front to back. New Mr. Gasket electric fuel pump with pre and post filters inline. New transmission lines from front to back. New Transmission mount. New Sunpro triple gauges set (temp, oil pressure & voltage which all work well) New 1976 Dodge D100 Radiator. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil, fluids and more. New thermostat. New K&N air filer. New headlights, pigtails, bulb sockets. New kingpins. New exhaust manifold gaskets. New C&G early Ford Parts brake junction blocks, crush washers and hardware. New brake switch. New bumpstops. New U-bolts on rear axles with 4" lowering blocks bought from Butch's Cool Stuff. New battery, power and ground cables with new braided ground straps from chassis to body, body to engine and engine to chassis. New ignition. New radiator cap. New upper & lower radiator hoses. New 700R4 kickdown bracket and throttle return spring bracket. New front wheels cylinders, brake hoses, lines, shoes, hardware. Newer tires. Front frame beadblasted and then rustproofed. The stock 3 speed shifter on the column has been converted to work with the 700R4 auto trans linkage and function like stock! This car needs very little to be a true showcar in my opinion. Car is currently in epoxy primer/sealer. It needs paint but the hard work is done. Fuel gauges doesnt work (not hooked up, I just top it off) there is no speedometer and no heater installed but this easy to do with the aftermarket options there are out there. I have an entire build photo documented with about 250 pics and paperwork and receipts for everything stated as "new" in the above description. Can provide this to anyone and the new owner will get it all as well. I have included just a few of the build photos in the listing, I can link to my photobucket page for full build too. New Kenwood AM/FM/CD/MP3/IPOD headunit W/ Built in HD Radio & Built in Bluetooth, 1.8mm aux jack and USB on face, W/remote. New Dual brand 3-way 6x9 speaker installed in factory dash location. Please feel free to call me with any questions concerning the truck. 708-545-6716/Joe - NO CALLS AFTER 9PM PLEASE. Check my feedback of 100% positive for assurance that you will not be buying anything but what is listed with no hassles when purchasing. I require PayPal as payment method. A non refundable $200 deposit will be required within 24 hours of auction end. I am located roughly 25 minutes south of Chicago's Midway Airport. I encourage all serious bidders to come and look it over in person so there are no surprises. Buyer is fully responsible for shipment/transporting this vehicle. Can be driven home where ever you were to be coming from. Fly in and drive home. Thanks for looking.
