Vehicle Detail
Need to sell this beauty NOW. This is why I'm offering a NEW lower "Buy it Now" option. I'm loosing tons of money. Again, my loss your gain. Up for Auction is a 1973 Opel GT with manual transmission. Body is solid and only has some rust under battery tray and a couple of minor dents, nothing major. I had the interior upholstered but did not meet my expectations, headliner needs to be redone but it looks pretty decent. Car drives good, no problems keeping up with other cars on freeway 75-80 MPH, the only complaint is that rear axle makes a humming noise but I do have the parts to repair the differential. The reason I’m selling this car is due to financial difficulties. I spend an embarrassing amount of money and time rebuilding this car but now I have higher priorities and I will not get to finish it, my loss your gain. Honestly, all that is left to do on this car is fix rear axle and send it to the paint shop. I have done a lot of work to this car and replaced lots of parts. I will try to list as much as I can, INTERIOR; new carpet kit, high grade floor mats, parking brake boot, 2ea seat hinge repair bolt, aluminum heater control plate, heater control cables, shifter boot, front and back window rubber (need to install after paint), quarter window rubber, left and right door weatherstripping, new nylon glass lifters, rearview mirrors, 2ea aluminum door lock buttons, rebuilt windshield wiper motor . SUSPENSION; new shock absorbers, rebuilt rack and pinion box, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie-rods, inner and outer wheel bearings, upper and lower spring hats. BRAKES; rebuilt master cylinder, new rotors, brake calipers, brake pads, brake hoses, rear wheel cylinders. LIGHTS AND ELECTRICAL; new lenses all around, headlight cable, upgraded turn signal relay, new voltage regulator, new heavy duty ignition coil, rebuilt alternator, Pertronics electronic ignition, new battery, battery box (need to install), new oil temp sending unit. ENGINE; recently completely rebuilt engine with all new tune-up components, new oil pressure sender, oil temp sender unit, new oil pump gears and gaskets, rebuilt starter motor, new transmission mount, center support damping ring, new center support bearing, center support upper and lower heavy duty stops, center support bushings. CLUTCH; new clutch disk, pressure plate , release bearing, pilot bearing, clutch cable. FUEL, new Weber carburetor, new electric fuel pump, gas-tank vapor vent tubing, new fuel tank sending unit. COOLING; new water pump and aluminum radiator. REAR AXLE; new wheel brakes, I do have new Pinion bearing set and Carrier bearing set that need to be installed to get rid of differential noise, I paid over $500 for this bearings alone. Your will get lots of extra parts, including gauges and service manual and I do have the beauty rings. Also, I have all receipts mainly from Opel GT Source and Opels Unlimited. This car is currently registered in the California DMV as non-op vehicle. This car is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of the auction close. The remaining balance is due within 7 days from the close of the auction. Acceptable payment methods are bank checks or personal check or cash. Car will not be released until check clears the bank. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and fees from point of sale to the final destination. In addition, it is the buyers responsibility to arrange and coordinate shipping. Only serious bidders need apply. On Sep-20-12 at 06:25:13 PDT, seller added the following information: *****NEW LOWER RESERVE****** On Oct-19-12 at 11:31:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: I swapped rear ends and the one that is painted silver shown in the pictures is not the one installed. However, torque tube and center support shown are the ones currently installed. As I mentioned above, I will be inlcuding $500 + worth of carrier and pinion bearings for the differential that need to be installed in differential and then paint and make it look good again; noise is really not so bad is just that I wanted a quiet ride and I hate noisy differentials. However, I was told by Todd from Opels Unlimited that this sound coming from differential is fairly common for an OPEL GT.
