Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 Let me first state, that the title on this car is CLEAR, and always has been. Ebay forced the "manufacturers buyback" status for title section (of which there was really no such status for title). Whatever happened 17 years ago is no longer any sort of issue, and title has no reflection of anything ever being amiss. Please read on for all the vehicle details. Bidding is for a very rare version of the famed Cadillac Allante. Between 1987 and 1993, a total of 21,431 Allantes were built. Production for 1993 was 4,670 cars. The rarest and most desirable of all these are the factory "Pearl Flax" Allantes, of which only 88 were ever built, all in 1993 (this gorgeous paint was a $700 option, at the time). Along with being the Indy Pace Car, 1993's are the best of the bunch anyway, as all of the previous Allante flaws were corrected for '93. This includes fixing the other year's famous ABS problems, adding the new 295hp Northstar engine, new suspension system, new 4 speed transmission, increased fuel capacity, removal of the faux windows, etc. Please do some on-line research of your own for more facts. Even without the rare paint job, this is one of the nicest Allantes that you're apt to still find out there. The car has only 62,000 ORIGINAL miles. Most of the mileage has been put on in the last 4 years, as this car was pretty much in storage for 15 years. In 2008, this car was still sitting at 21,000 miles. Check out the carfax. For reasons unknown today, the car is listed as a dealer buy back in 1995. Apparently the issues were taken care of, and the car lived in Florida for 12 years, doing a lot of sitting around. Somebody, along the line, even had a battery cut-off switch installed, for extended storage use. This car runs perfectly, always starts, is very quick, drives like a dream, and has no major issues whatsoever. You can drive this car anywhere, anytime!! Body is in great shape, no dents or rust, and paint is nice and shiny. Car has the factory optional Chrome Wheels, with a set of excellent, high-end Michelin tires. Interior is also in fine shape, with Factory natural beige leather interior and carpeting, and no rips, tears, or burns. Soft top is fine, with no issues and no leaks. All of the glass is fine, and all of the gadgets work. Included with this car purchase is the original owner's manual, a factory service manual, and a Brooklands 136page "road test" book (which uses a pearl flax Allante for it's cover photo). I'm also including with this sale, an original Allante HARDTOP. It came from a 1989 model, and is a pearl white color, with a nice headliner. The retro-fitting eye bolt conversion has been done, and the top locks right in. However, as with using all older tops with a newer Allante, a hardtop rubber weatherstrip conversion kit is needed for a completely tight fit. These kits are readily available on-line. Although the hard top is problem free in dry weather, there is some leakage in the pouring rain, and the top does need repainting to match the car. The car is worth far more then the starting price, even without the rare hard top, so it's really just a BIG BONUS for someone!!! All in all, while this car isn't perfect, in anyone's opinion it would certainly rate a 9 out of 10. The only issues to mention are as follows: -The heat pad under the hood apparently met up with a hungry mouse once upon a time and had some chewing. It's a minor cosmetic thing, and only seen when hood is up. No other parts were damaged in the feast. -Some of the outside window rubber is getting worn from age. It's another cosmetic thing, that has no leak issues, or other real ill effects. -The ride control message comes on sometimes. I just reset it when it appears, and it doesn't have any effect on the car's driving at all. But, I want to be totally honest about the vehicle, and it is the only mechanical item that I know of that may need some addressing. Car rides just beautifully though, so it's nothing too major, I would think. That's it. This car is truly a very rare classic, and would be a collector's dream. Any buyer won't be disappointed at all. Just be ready for a lot of stares and compliments when driving around town! This is a NO RESERVE auction. I have 100% LIFETIME feedback as a seller, so no worries here. The car is obviously a Pick-up item, but I'll be glad to assist a shipper, if needed. Please ask any questions that you might have, BEFORE bidding. I live just north of Detroit area, and vehicle is available for inspection anytime before auctions end.
