Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This auction is for a 1995 Mercedes C36 AMG in great shape. If you are considering this vehicle then you already know all the performance specs. It's a fun, fast and comfortable car to drive daily. The exterior of the car is an 8.5/10, with a few minor chips and scratches as would be expected for a car of this age. The paint is original except for the front bumper and mirrors, which were resprayed due to chips and match perfectly. All panels are straight, no dents that I can find, no rust, no accidents, with a deep shine and bright reflection. There is a small dent in the rear bumper chrome trim and the trunk has a section of clear coat delamination (see pics). Always waxed and detailed, looks great! The interior is a 9/10, with no tears in the leather, no stains, door panels in great shape, and a headliner that was replaced a few years ago. All gauges, switches and lights work fine. There is a seam on the top of the rear seats that the thread has snapped, separating the leather a bit for about an inch- an easy fix with some thread if it bothers you. Everything on the car works as it should with the exception of the HVAC vents, which shift the air output depending on throttle position at times. This is a common W202 problem due to leaking diaphragms in the HVAC vent position control pods. The parts are fairly inexpensive but the dash has to come out, so I haven’t tackled it. It hasn’t been a big enough issue to fix and has been like this since I bought the car. Rarely noticeable, and doesn’t affect the heat or A/C, just what vents the air comes out of at times. No check engine lights or other lights on. The SRS light stays on for about 30 seconds after starting, but then goes out (been that way since I bought it). The dealer checked the SRS light and said that nothing was going on. The engine and transmission wiring harnesses have been replaced, as has the throttle body. The head gasket was done at 120k, with the head having guides and seals replaced since it was apart. It has some oil leaks typical for Mercedes, but loses/uses less than half a quart of oil between 4k oil changes. Oil changes always with synthetic. The transmission shifts firmly and smoothly, and has had regular oil changes along with the rear differential fluid. The cooling system was redone a year ago with a new radiator, fan clutch, water pump, thermostat, and hoses. The car keeps a steady coolant temp in the hottest of weather. A/C works great! The front lower control arm bushings, center link, tie rods, and all four shocks were replaced about 20k ago. The front wheel bearings were replaced a few months ago, as were all four brake lines. This car does not have traction control to get in the way of fun! The car needs the following: front tires (they are worn, but ok for a bit), an alignment, and a driver’s side exterior door lock. You can lock/unlock the car from the trunk or passenger side at the moment. It just broke this week! Order at a dealer by VIN and the key will match. Overall a great, well cared for, unmolested, and unabused example of a classic AMG model! Drive it anywhere!
