Vehicle Detail
There she was one afternoon looking so silvery and shiny. She was so simple but simplicity is all that I craved. Her comfortable interior begged me to take her for a ride. I explained how I needed something reliable, great on gas-36 miles to the gallon, and that made me look good while driving. My Yaris, Ema, is what I named her, and she gave me all of those things and more. Here is our story. Hi. I’m from Rochester, NY and me and my 2009 Toyota Yaris have been through so much together that it is hard for me to part with her. My present job was only 10 minutes away and since that is what I primarily used Ema for; she only required a meal every two weeks. One major event that we endured together was for me to find a job and it was up to her to get me there on time and safely. I scoured the help wanted ads online. Finally, a job with promise in my field became available; the only problem was I would have to travel 9 hours in order to get there. You see, the job was in Maine. This was our first long trip together, let alone driving out of state all by ourselves. Scary. But Ema made me feel like I could go anywhere and do anything. Her handy iPod connection kept me singing the whole way there. When we arrived at our destination, the GPS on my phone stopped working, but Ema led me to the right parking garage. She waited for me in the cold while I endured 8 grueling interviews, hoping to land a supervisory position. I walked out of the all day session exhausted, beaten and hungry. Ema let me put all my interview materials, laptop, clothes, shoes, and other items neatly in her back hatchback. Her small frame was deceiving as she was able to hold 10 grocery sized bags and still have room to spare. She drove me to the nearest hotel to rest up for the next big trek home to Rochester. I have always thought she is a morning gal as she is so positive and peppy in the morning, which is exactly what I needed in order to get my mind off of the results of the interviews. It was a cold morning but the heater was cranking and we were rocking to our iPod tunes the 9-hours back. A few weeks later we were called back to Maine to endure another 8 grueling interviews, this time it was for an even bigger position as a Director of a department. Ema and I made videos of our trips up and back. With each updated saga, we precursored the name of our videos, “What happens in Maine?” Driving through the beautiful mountainside of Maine with my favorite little buddy, Ema made it such a pleasurable experience. We ended up traveling up and back 4 times in all. Thank goodness it was all worth it because we got the job! I could not have done it without Ema by my side. I packed up my house of 10 years and two trips with that little Ema. Once we arrived at our new home in Maine I knew it was coming to an end. My new job was within walking distance of my home and I knew I wouldn’t need Ema as I once had. This made me tear up. She had always been there for me. Now I needed to be there for her. She gave me the best 48,282 miles (as of 11/11/12) of her life and she still has more good years to give. It was only fitting that I support Ema as she supports me and find a suitable companion for her. That is why we are writing today. I need someone special for my special Ema. She is only $8,200.00 but worth so much more and will give you so much more. I have attached pictures of Ema so you can see what I saw that first brisk day in November when we met. She warmed my heart as she will yours. Treat my baby well.
