Vehicle Detail

Matching numbers series 1 roadster with Heritage Certificate. Has its original 4.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine with triple SU carbs and fully synchronized manual gearbox. The paint quality is very good with very good body gaps. Originally the car was British Racing Green and the color changed to Regency Red, but I must admit Regency Red is an excellent color for an e-type. Paint has a very nice shine and complements the smooth lines of the e-type. Body is very solid and rust free in the important areas. Beige leather interior was redone and looks very nice. Nice dash top. All gauges are in working order. Very nice tan canvas soft top. Engine runs very good with excellent oil pressure. Suspension is nice and tight. Clutch and gearbox work as they should. I have driven many e-types and this car handles very well with plenty of power and without rattles. It is hard to describe but some cars do not feel "right" and this one definitely feels right. Although this is a very good e-type it is not perfect. There is a paint chip that was retouched on the passenger door, there are small rust bubble on the bottom of the same door, and a small dent just over the left front bumper (see photos), otherwise paint looks nice. Both foot wells have been somewhat pushed up by improper jacking (very common). On the driver's side, acid from when batteries were not sealed, affected the left front foot well area and undercoated had been applied. This is rather common on an e-type and is not a structural member. Replacement foot wells are available for $50 each but personally I would leave it as is. 1967 was the very last year of the series 1 e-type before pollution and DOT requirements reduced much of the engine's power and the attractive toggle switches and slim bumpers were eliminated. The open headlights are original to the car as this was one of the last series 1 cars made. This car is not a series 1.5; those came out in 1968. Overall this is a well sorted out, matching numbers, series 1 roadster in a very attractive color combination. You should see a photo collage above this description which contains additional photos.
