I am selling my 1997 Blue 740i w/ tan interior. Very clean car that I was driving as a daily driver up to a few months ago. I have a friend who is a certified BMW tech whom has completed all maintenance on the car since I purchased about a year ago. His maintenance has included new valve cover gaskets, new platinum spark plugs, new fuel filter, three Mobil 1 synthetic oil changes, a transmission overhaul with replacement filters and fluid, replacement of coolant and power steering fluid, and a number of other projects that don't currently come to mind. Because this car is a 1997 it is no longer subject to the MA emissions; when one of the catalytic converters became clogged he also installed CAT deletes; giving the car a more throaty, crisp sound, higher fuel mileage, and more power. O2 spacers were used in rear O2 sensor positions to trick emissions computer and avoid having emissions light on. Tires have at least 75% of there life left. Newer expensive floor mats w/ BMW logo embroidered. Heated seats and steering wheel. All in all, with some minor repairs, this car would make a great and reliable daily driver for someone. Keep in mind that this is an aluminum V8 DOHC motor w/ aluminum heads and variable cam timing (high tech). Motor runs great and will for years to come. You can tell it was very well maintained and used appropriately driving this luxury vehicle. Because the car sat for a couple months, the battery is now dead (but started as soon as I jumped it). I did notice that it was leaking gas now as well; where the fuel line runs under the mid carriage section of the vehicle. This was a slow dripping leak; I'm guessing a seal dried up by me not driving the car. Besides this, the only issues with the car are lack of power to the radio, power steering reservoir cap leaking slowly, and a passenger's side air bag sensor (my friend used his special BMW diagnostic computer to pin point). This beamer is very clean inside and out. Between my work and child, I simply do not have the time to have it fixed like I had planned; needed to buy a new car.
