If the classic Auburn or Cord nameplates had been in business back in 1972, their cars would likely have had the dramatic proportions of this modern-day classic TBird. Incidentally, the only modifications to the car are chromed valve covers - air filter - exhaust extensions, and the incorporation of Flowmaster exhaust components (which do announce the legendary 460 cid engine with authority!).As an anecdote, this Thunderbird is very well known and respected in the Vintage Thunderbird Club International. Sitting next to the legendary 2-seaters of 1955-1957, the 1972 is of very large proportion and thus acquired the affectionate moniker: "Da Mule" !TV STAR...This Tbird is a TV star! The engine compartment may, in fact, look BETTER THAN NEW.STUNNING UNDERCARRIAGE: The weak point of most any classic - even Show Cars - is the undercarriage. This TBird's undercarriage is nothing less than STUNNING! The car is as impressive on the Underside as it is on the Top!PERFORMANCE: The car drives beautifully and confidently. Power Steering, Power Brakes, Automatic Transmission, Radio (not as selective as modern radios...needs a strong signal), Power Windows, Headlamps, Tail-lights, Brake-lights, Directionals, Horn, Wipers, and Interior Lighting all work well. The car is all ready to go...to cruise night...nostalgic rides in the country...or to collect more trophies at local, regional, and even national shows. NOTES: 1) the air-conditioning refrigeration components are working...but the vacuum lines will need trouble-shooting for complete and correct operation, and 2) the power antenna works but has somewhat limited travel.
