Vehicle Detail

For sale is my beautiful 81 911 SC... 3.0 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual. California car for the first 20 years of its life. Excellent interior (no dash cracks, etc.), excellent paint. Typical minor stone chips and blemishes. Paint looks to be around 10 years old, and is the original color. Authentic Fuchs wheels. New brake master cylinder, fluid changed with German ATE. New distributor cap, rotor, OEM braided ignition wire set. New fuel filter and fuel accumulator to fix poor running on hot start. New battery. All the switches and electronics work, except the auto heat which just stopped working last fall. Air conditioning is available, the parts just need to be re-installed in the engine compartment. The car rides and handles wonderfully. Bilstein shocks keep the car firmly planted, steering is tight and responsive. Drives like one would expect an 80s 911 to. Does not leak oil! 216k on the clock scares people away, but it has given me no trouble in the two and a half years I’ve owned it. It has been driven to events across the state with absolutely no problems. If someone wants to turn it into a track car that they can flog around, I would recommend giving the drivetrain a once-over. But for someone wanting a modern-classic sports car for normal cruising, this should need nothing for years to come. Shifting requires a bit of effort sometimes, and I had read of people having success in making shifting easier by adjusting the shift linkage in the tunnel below the back floor. I attempted this fix, but only managed to make it worse. Though it doesn’t grind or anything, and I do have new bushings for the shifter and linkage that may be replaced as well. I am selling because I just don’t drive it enough to enjoy the car, and lately I’m not driving stick shift at all due to health reasons. Time for someone else to have fun with it, before I change my mind and hold on to it! Please ask any questions prior to bidding.
