1979 Honda CBX Beautiful 1979 Honda CBX Supersport with only 4,200 original miles. I am the second owner of this desirable classic and have ridden it only in dry weather and stored it in a heated garage/gallery. This is one of the finest CBXs that you will find. It starts and runs beautifully, has always been serviced by a Honda certified mechanic, and I would not hesitate to ride it anywhere. Everything on this bike is original, including the Hondaline front crash bar. There are no aftermarket parts on this beautiful bike, except for the petcock. The original Candy Glory Red paint and the chrome are in great condition with no pitting, fading or dents. The tires have great tread, with no cracking. The original seat is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. This bike truly turns heads wherever it goes, and is one of the most photographed bikes at all of the rally’s and shows that I've taken it to. This is the most desirable of all the CBXs, as it was the first year of production and produced the most horsepower. It ran the quarter mile in the low elevens when tested by all of the cycle magazines, and was crowned The FASTEST PRODUCTION MOTORCYCLE IN THE WORLD when introduced. A year later, due to pressure from insurance companies and the government, it was de-tuned and the speedometer was changed to from 150 mph to 80mph. The iconic six cylinder engine has been immortalized in film, posters, sculptures and clothing. I am sharing some photos of the memorabilia that I have in my own gallery. There are CBX clubs still active all around the world...a testament to the appeal of this elegant collectible. The only flaws on this bike are a crack on the side of the rear fairing, most noticeable when in direct sunlight, and a small ding on the top right of the tachometer. Also, a small hole at the joint between the header and exhaust on the left side. By fixing these three minor problems the bike becomes truly MINT CONDITION. I have attempted to give as honest a representation of this motorcycle as possible, along with photos from every angle.
