Available is one Very Rare Very Unique Jaguar XJ Sedan. This Jaguar Sedan was Originally Built in January of 1988 at the Jaguar Factory in Coventry England. This Jaguar Originally was Equipped with a 3.6 Liter inline i6 Engine and was shipped to the US and sold with 15000 other XJ Sedans that same year. After Several Years and Several Thousand Miles this car was aquired by a Particular Detroit Tiger Baseball Player that had a Fascination for Hot Rods and Custom Cars. In the 1990's this car underwent a long and costly Transformation. After being Completely Disassembled and Stripped the car received All new Paint inside and out. All New Drivetrain was installed. All new Custom two-tone Leather Interior was installed. Custom Alpine Strereo system was installed along with new guages and Wheels and lots of other upgrades. The Engine used in this Car is a GM Chevrolet ZZ4 350ci 5.7 Liter V8. This Engine came Brand new from GM Not Rebuilt with a 4 Bolt Main Cast Iron Block and Bowtie Aluminum Heads with port matched Bowtie Aluminum Intake Manifold. Fuel intake is Supplied by an all Aluminum Edelbrock Preformer Series 4-Barrel Carbeurator. Original GM Ramhorn Exhaust Manifolds that have been Ground Smooth and Jet-Hot coated then were utilized for the exhaust. Behind the Ramhorn exhaust is all Stainless Steel exhaust tubes and FlowMaster Mufflers with tasteful slash cut chrome exhaust pipes that exit at the rear of the car in the proper position. This car does Not Sound Like a Jaguar. Also mounted in the engine bay is a PowerMaster Chrome 140 amp Alternator, Cast Iron Water pump, HEI Ignition with High Temp Silicone Ignition wires, a 4 core Radiator with a custom Shroud with mechanical fan and fanclutch, custom Aluminum Coolant reservoir. The Air-conditioning on the inside of the car remains stock but the Air Compressor has been upgraded to a Sanden Aluminum unit. This car is equipped with 4 Wheel Disc Brakes, However uses a Chevrolet Brake Booster and Master Cylinder that has been modified to fit under the XJ hood, along with a brake proportioning valve which can be adjusted manually on the inside of the fender under the hood. The Transmission on this car is a GM 700-4R Turbo Automatic Overdrive Transmission That shifts smooth and correct. However the Original U Shaped shifter pattern will not allow the driver to shift manually in to first or second gear only Park, Reverse, Neutral, Overdrive and Drive. This car uses original Jaguar Rear Differential and independent rear suspension, Although the original 2 piece rubber mounted Driveshaft has been replaced with a One Piece Custom Balanced driveshaft and the Rear Differential yoke from a XJS that uses 4 bolts to the driveshaft instead of the original 3 bolt flange.The Body of this car was Repainted at the time of the conversion and all insides of the panels and jams were professionally painted to match the Deep Rich Black Cherry Red Metallic Exterior. Underneath the Hood has been modified and smoothed to accomadate the Chevrolet engine. The original door and front fender bumpers that are mounted on the sides of the car have been removed and smoothed to keep the sides of the car clean and smooth. Also all the original VIN badges remain in their original locations on every panel of this car.The interior of this car has been Replaced and refitted with a Custom two Tone Light and Dark Gray Leather on the Seats Door panels and console. This is the only two tone leather Jaguar I have ever seen of this vintage. In the dashboard the original guage cluster has been upgraded to all VDO white face guages Speedometer, Tachometer, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Fuel Guage and Voltmeter. All the guages work as they should. Inside the car the Original radio has been replaced by an Alpine AM/FM CD Stereo and 6 speakers. In the trunk there is a CD Changer which is controlled by the head unit, 2 Alpine Amplifiers and an integrated speaker/ amplifier box mounted into the floor of the trunk and concealed under a fitted panel that matches the carpet in the trunk. This box contains two subwoofers and the 2 amplifiers that drive all 8 speakers including the subs. The Wheels are Factory Original Jaguar XJR 18 inch BBS wheels with Jaguar Center Caps. These wheels looks and fit great, no rubs or clearance issues. All New Tires installed in the last year. This Tranformation was completed approxamately 15 years ago. This car has travelled over 43 thousand miles since, as shown on the Odometer. This car is Not perfect but is nice. This car is a great driver. There is some small scratches in the paint all over, The paint is starting to get thin on the hood. There is a couple rust bubbles one on the rear right quarter under the tail light and one small bubble on the top seal of the rear window. The rear windows do not go down. the front windows work perfectly as well as the sunroof. This car does not drive like a Jaguar. This car drives like a American Muscle Car Street Rod, Because that is; what it is. Also the Front and Rear Shocks are brand new.
