1966 Mustang Coupe Project 302 V-8 and C-4 Automatic Transmission For sale is a solid, running and driving 1966 Mustang Coupe. This car has an excellent running 302 V-8 from a 1974 Torino. Supposedly it only had 60,000 miles on it when it was installed in this car, and it's been driven less than 10 miles since being installed. It sounds excellent and starts up beautiful! No smoke, noise, rattles, or strange noises. The transmission shifts although the shift pattern is backwards, i believe the transmission came out of a steering column shifter from the torino, the linkage needs the correct bracket to be correct. The brakes are there with a lot of new parts already installed still need a little tweaking like manual drums brakes do. All the parts have been replaced, so it's all fine tuning from here. Also has new brake lines for the rear. The only part that i know of is the master cylinder leaks. The body is very solid with no real visible rot or rust. Obviously, it will need final body work and prep, and then the paint color of your choice. The floors and trunk are in good shape. Underneath, the car looks great, and the frame rails and torque boxes are solid and rust free. It's all there...it just needs sorted out. The interior is pretty complete. The front and rear seats have no visible wear no rips or tears. It will need carpet and door panels but nothing major is missing. It has window cranks, seat belts and a new gauge cluster. Its a great project because every part of a first generation Mustang can be bought online from hundreds of suppliers. Also has brand new window tint. Rims are original mustang hub caps, tires are in good condition. It's a weekend away from being a driver, and since the body is so solid, it's not far from getting ready for paint. The mustang is not road ready, so it will need to be towed or trailered to your location. Reserve price is not ridiculous, very reasonable and appropriate for the overall condition of this 66.
