The original car: 289 v8, automatic, factory air, factory front disc brakes, power steering. Changes: 302 v8 with mid-range VooDoo cam, headers, dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, four barrel Holley. Interior: headliner, high-back seats, 3 point harness, dash, console, roll-bar, electric windows, tinted windows, shaved door handles with pop-lock remote control, Alpine stereo, updated steering wheel. Exterior: shaved door handles, fender flares, custom scoop on hood, non-functional brake air scoops, front racing apron, custom grille, graphite gray pearl paint, Hopster American Racing Wheels. The car was a project car that had been used by previous handicapped owner to gym-kana/parking lot race. The suspension is awesome and the car rides and drives great, corners very flat. Floor pans were replaced in 2001. Exterior taken down to metal and then repainted. This icon of an American sports car has been shown at Mustang Owners show, Good-Guys show and Texas Heat Wave (First place trophy does not convey). It is always a favorite and has placed several times at the Texas Heat Wave in Austin. This project was started 12 years ago with my son to bring us together and educate him about cars. It has been a worthy and satisfying project. The car in my opinion is 90-95% good to go. Over $35,000 has been spent on this project.
