Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 2008 R1200GS Adventure. This is still my dream bike, but I honestly have no time to ride, and I could use the money elsewhere. It currently has 19,629 mi on the odometer. Only dropped during slow speeds on soft ground (off-road). It does have the Touratech/Kahedo X-Low seat (which I had painted to match the OEM GS Adv seat), I sold the original seat. The bike can now be ridden by short guys/girls like me. NO changes to the shocks/suspension, just the seat. Full disclosure: I am the second owner of the bike, the first was a BMW mechanic at Gateway BMW (St. Louis, MO). He sold it to me because he was ready for something newer. He is responsible for the numerous upgrades to the bike (HID hi-beam, PIAA HID auxiliaries, Reinforced center-stand, kick-stand enlarged foot, powder-coated black Jesse Odessey II side panniers, oil/brake line protectors, MSA aux fuel bottle/holder....). I've had the bike for about a year and a half, just put new tires (Shinko 975 radials) on about 200 mi. ago. I also just replaced the both grips (heated) with brand new OEM (heated) grips, and have ordered a new OEM adventure windshield, which I will install prior to delivery/pickup. ALSO equipped with Touratech crash-bar bags, and I just put a new OEM small adventure tank bag on about 2 months ago. So many extras with this bike, can't remember them all. The only thing "wrong" with the bike is the fuel gauge is no longer working....anyone familiar with BMW specificially the R1200GS' knows about this problem. Serious inquiries only please!Read More:http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-reviews/bmw/2008-bmw-r-1200-gs-adventure-ar46999.html The seat is 2.25 inches lower than the stock seat. This write-up (below) shows the Kahedo x-low seat to be approx. 35.75 inches from the ground (vs. stock 37.5 inches). I am 5'6 w/28 in. inseam. I can get the balls of my feat down most of the time...tip-toes all the time. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319568
