Vehicle Detail
1970 Buick GS 455 4-speed 1 of only 510 build with 4-speed. More rare than Stage 1 4-speed. This car is back on the road after being parked for over 10 years. It is mostly complete and unmolested condition. Driveline: motor is non-original 455 with block casting # _241_35. Seems 1st digit and 4th digits are missing in casting #. Runs strong with no issues. Transmission is M21 Muncie 4-speed with factory Hurst shifter. Muncie VIN # POM13B. Casting # 3925660. No vehicle VIN stamp. 4-speed is quiet and works great. Rear differential is 3:42 posi. Cannot see code on housing but seems to be original differential and also works good. Body has all original paint except for right front fender. All front trim is nice. Front bumper is straight. Grill is broken. Hood is good. Hood is missing sealing plates for RAM AIR. Both front fenders have lower rust. Driver's door is rust free. Passenger door has rust spot on front corner. Both rear quarters have rust. Likely salvageable. All inner rear quarter panels have small amount of rust. Also likely salvageable. Trunk lid inner structure is rusted out. Outer structure is good. Should consider replacing trunk lid. Rear bumper is straight. All rear trim in good condition. Passenger compartment floor and rockers have surface rust but are not rusted through. Never been undercoated. Trunk floor has some rust holes requiring repairs. Overall body has normal dents and dings with some hail-like dents. All trim is nice with some having dings. Windshield is broken. Right front window has been replaced. Inside of car dashpad has no cracks. Gauges are in very good condition and operate well. Headliner and rear package tray have been removed. Some seatbelts are missing. Rest of interior shows normal wear. Only things not working are windshield washer, e-brake, missing some of the reverse lockout linkage. Tires are dry-rotted requiring replacement. Recently: all fluids have been changed, motor tuned up, alternator/starter/fuel pump replaced, driven 700 miles since back on the road with no issues. This GS is a low-option car with factory tach and gauges, AM radio, bench seat with center armrest, manual drum brakes with aluminum front drums, power steering, 3:42 posi. Overall this would be a great car to restore! It is a strong runner. It is very original, missing very few items. I will not be able to check my email intill Thursday, if you need any more info or have questions, please call Tom at 701-721-4558
