Vehicle Detail
This car is relisted because the previous high bidder states he had a personal emergency and could not complete the transaction. Please do not bid on this vehicle unless you are certain you can complete the transaction. This car is for sale with NO RESERVE. This is my 1984 Porsche 928S model. There are plenty of "basket case/project" 928s for sale. This is not one of them. This is an excellent condition, great-driving, superb car that you can enjoy right now. This car has 18" wheels from a 911 Turbo. This car has the rare 5-speed manual transmission. Fewer than 5% of 928 models were built with a manual transmission. Most were un-fun automatics! This 928 has the following equipment and options:4.7L V8 engine5-speed manual transmission with racing patternleather upholsterypower seatsautomatic climate controlcruise controlpower sunroofAlpine AM/FM CD playerpower windows and locks18" Turbo-twist wheels (from 911 Turbo) and new tires This is a collector's quality vehicle that will only continue to appreciate in value. This is one of the most beautiful 928 Porsches I have ever seen. The paint and body are extraordinarily beautiful and clean. There is absolutely no rust. The paint quality is excellent, and the body is totally straight and clean. This is truly an extraordinary automobile. This is a superb, fun-to-drive 928 that is breathtakingly powerful and handles outstandingly well. It is easy to see why this was Porsche's most expensive car at the time. The contemporary 911 just couldn't keep up with the water-cooled V8 in this car. Please view the photos. This car is stunning to look at. You would never guess what year this car is. The 18" 911 Turbo wheels provide a modern look to a timeless body style. This car has just been serviced and gone over by Steinel's (Porsche) Autowerks, our local Porsche specialists. I should mention that when the car was most recently at Steinel's for service, the owner of the shop came up to me and said, "That car runs well. REALLY well." He is right! As mentioned, this car runs and drives very well. The engine is smooth, powerful and runs perfectly. The clutch takes up well and it is strong. The transmission shifts well. The brakes and suspension are good, and the car stops, drives and handles beautifully. It doesn't need any known mechanical work. This car is a joy to drive; it is perfect to enjoy on country back roads where you can really open it up. The exhaust is an aftermarket free-flowing system that sounds throaty and amazing. It sounds like a late-model Maserati. The front seats have just been professionally reupholstered for a cost of $1500. You will find that the original leather installed in the 928 does not hold up. Consequently, if the seats have not been reupholstered, the seats will be dry and cracked, and they will look rough. Recent work (within the last few thousand miles) on this car includes new timing belt, water pump and fuel pump. Please remember that this is a 1984 vehicle, not brand new. Please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car. There is normal wear inside and out, including some brush-touched stone nicks and scratches, and other normal small imperfections. The rear tailgate latch doesn't latch down particularly well. There is some noise from what appears to be the rear wheel bearings- which is more noticeable at speeds 60 mph and above. The sunroof switch does not work, so the sunroof isn't currently working. The brake-pad light is on in the dash, though the brakes are very good. The dash has some cracks, just like most every 928. The air conditioning doesn't blow cold. The shift boot and knob are original and worn. You can fly in the Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home, or you can have the car shipped. I recommend Angels Moving Autos at 530 245 0481 for shipping. If you have questions, please email me or call/text me at 440 339 4341.
