NO RESERVE!!!! NO RESERVE!!! High Bidder Wins!! 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS with Version 8 STI Engine / Twin Turbo This car was done right! · Twin Scroll turbo Charger · Version 8 STI Engine (2008) · STI 6 Speed transmission · All Wheel drive · Subaru Performance Tech (SPT) Cold Air Intake · VISHNU down pipe · Custom turbo-back exhaust (5” to 4”) · New Exedy performance Clutch · JDM STI Brakes · JDM STI Cluster (Electronically converted to MPH, not KM) · iWire Profession wiring Harness · WRX Seats Last month I placed a high performance car on eBay (Nissan Skyline) I had no idea that I would bring so many motor heads out of the internet. I received more emails in a single day than I would normally get in a month. I finally made a deal with a young man to take this Subaru as partial trade against the Skyline. I have been building and driving hot rods for 25 years. By hot rods I mean Corvettes, Camaro’s, etc. In the last few months I have received a bit of an education on these four cylinder, turbo charged monsters that look like a grocery getter. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the performance of this car. When I got this car I decided to take it for a drive down to the gas station. I ended up being gone for an hour and I felt like a teenager again. I found myself hunting for anything that looked fast so I could sneak up beside them and blow their doors off. I need to get rid of this car before I get arrested! I moved to Texas in 2008 and decided to get my car dealer license because I love to buy and sell cars and motorcycles. It has always been more of a hobby than a business (thank god, or I would starve) Having my license has allowed me to experience cars that I would have never thought to look at in the past. This is a great example. The car was built right. The wiring harness that was used is top of the line by iWire. Everything in this car works as it should. There are no check engine lights and the air conditioning works perfectly. The Version 8 STI engine was taken from a 2008 STI. It had 49,000 miles when it was installed, about 5,000 miles ago. Before the motor was installed in this car the mechanic replaced the timing belt and tensioner. There was nothing wrong with the original timing belt or tensioner but this is a good precaution to take while the engine is out of the car, ensuring a longer life for the engine. The car had about 144,000 miles on it before it was upgraded with all of the new drive train. The mechanic went through the car before putting it back on the road and everything was confirmed to be solid in the frame and suspension. The brakes were upgraded to JDM STI Brakes. I put the car on a rack, it is very clean, rust free. The 6 speed transmission is very smooth. The mechanic shortened the throw on the shifter so the gears are closer together when you shift. It feels like a race car. The tires are fairly new, at least 80% tread left. It runs strong and shifts well. Motor has plenty of power. I’m not sure what the HP is. I was going to get it tested but I have not had time. It is definitely way north of 300HP. I live in New Braunfels, Texas. We are in between San Antonio and Austin. You are very welcome to come and inspect this car before you bid. Issues: It’s not a new car but it is in very good condition. The only real issue is the clear coat on the paint. The car was painted last year and it looks like they used too much reducer in the clear coat. If you stand in the right light you will see little bubbles in the clear coat on the hood and upper rear fender. I took it to a local body shop and they suggested wet sanding the clear coat off og the car and re-applying the clear coat. I decide to sell it as-is and let the new owner decide. The car looks good. I did my best to take some pictures to show the clear coat issue but it is hard to see unless the sun hits it from the right angle (then it’s obvious). My kids thoug t it was done on purpose to give the car a “metallic” look. Other issue is the exhaust. It is way to load for me. You can hear this car coming from a distance and it sounds like a rally car. The kids love it and I had a friend in his mid-20’s that thought it was “cool” as well. If I were going to keep it I would put a muffler on there to make it softer. It obviously does not have any cat converter on it. I have a current Texas safety inspection so it would be no problem to register the car here. It was previously registered in Tennessee, no problems there either. If you live in California it might be a different story. It is the buyer’s responsibility to insure that it will pass emissions in your area. I think the biggest problem with this car will be the constant battle you will have with trying to overcome an overwhelming impulse to push the accelerator to the floor and feel your head push back. Every time I drive this car I get out with a smile on my face and feel like I just got away with something I should not be doing. This car will sell to the high bidder regardless if that is $500 or $20,000. I really hope to get what this car is worth but I will trust the auction to bring whatever the market will pay. Whoever wins this bid will be very happy! I will be happy to help you arrange to get the car to your home as long as it has been paid for before it leaves my driveway. I would suggest that you fly into San Antonio or Austin and let me pick you up at the airport. You can drive it home. I would have no reservation about driving this car across the country. Trade ? I’m always interested in something interesting. Not interested in projects or junk. The winning bidder will need to pay a $500 deposit within 24 hours and the balance within 5 days. You can leave the car here as long as you wish once it is paid for. This is a true NO RESERVE! High Bidder Wins! On Oct-20-12 at 07:34:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to be clear. The turbo is a "Twin Scroll Turbo Charger". (Not two turbo chargers)
