Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1966 Rambler Marlin that needs total restoration. This is a 327 car with an automatic on the floor. The bucket seats are the reclining ones. The car has disc brakes on the front and what appears to be a premium or upgraded sound system with an AM/FM 8 track and an amplifier in the trunk. The original color appears to be a light gold. The engine surprisingly runs smooth for sitting 20 plus years, however there is a hole in one of the manifolds. I can demonstrate the engine for potential buyers (The carburator in the picture does not come with the sale). The car moves however the brakes will need to be gone through. Some of the lights are working such as the dome, headlights, and turn signals. This car comes with a NC title ready to go. I believe this car to be number 911 off the line as the last digits of the vin are 00911 and I think 4,547 were made this year. The milage on the clock is 66,258, which I believe to be correct as the brake pedal has no wear. There is some rust on the body, trunk, and cowl as seen in the pictures so be prepared to do some welding. I cannot take pictures of every spot there is rust but have tried to take the obvious. If there is anything you would like me to check or take a picture of let me know. The trunk lid and hood will need to be replaced and the windshield is cracked and oxidized . The floor pans seem to be complete and solid as most of the trunk floor and is as well. There are a few things missing such as the hood ornament, trunk ornament, 1 piece of trim on the passenger roof, and the factory air cleaner and carburator. The rims and studs on the car are quite rusty from sitting and will need to be replaced. Two tires on the passenger side will not hold air. Overall, this car would make a nice project and it is a shame it sat for so long. Potential buyers may view the car or send someone to check it over by appointment, which I would encourage. The car will need to be trailered and probably winched. Car will need to be picked up within 7 days of auction end as I need the space for another car thats on its way.
