Beautiful 1981 Honda CBX with only 4,500 original miles. I am the second owner and have ridden it in dry weather only, keeping it stored in a heated garage/gallery.This is absolutely one of the finest CBX's you will find. It starts and runs beautifully, has always been serviced by a Honda certified mechanic, and I would not hesitate to ride it anywhere.The chrome and paint are in great condition with no pitting, fading or dents.The tires are original and have good tread wear, as you would expect from only 4,500 miles. They have some sidewall cracking and I would replace them for any long trip. The seat is also original and the upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. Please note this bike is NOT an ex-school bike! That means it was never taken apart countless times and put back together incorrectly. This CBX is all original , with the exception of a new battery and windshield. The previous owner installed a RIFLE windshield to the stock fairing. This allows more ventilation and prevents fogging, as well as, affording more face protection. This upgrade cost over $300. The only flaws are a small crack on the right side saddle bag, which occurred when another bike leaned against it. This also caused a crack in the floor of the saddlebag. Also, a blemish on the top/back of the front fender, that is not noticeable unless you really look for it. I didn't notice it until I detailed the bike last week. Along with the bike, I will provide the winning bidder with several magazine covers, articles, framed prints, an un-assembled 1981 CBX model and a clock celebrating the 1981 CBX. These were displayed along with the bike at various shows and at it's permanent heated storage spot. Also included are the original tool kit and owners manual. The bike has a clear title, and for a Washington State buyer I will include the collector vehicle license plate, which does not require annual tab expenses.
