Vehicle Detail
1984 Pontiac Fiero SE 2M4 White, Brown, 2.5L, Automatic I have my 1984 Pontiac Fiero SE 2M4 up for sale.It has a Pontiac 2.5L 4 Cylinder engine, with automatic transmission. The body is in excellent shape. very straight with great paint. The interior is also very nice looking, the seats were recovered. The dash has a couple small cracks that you can see in pictures. The driver's seat does have a small tear in the back part near the door you can also see in pictures.Speedometer and RPM gauge works, fuel gauge does not.The AC functions, but the belt is not on the compressor. It did not blow cold, the compressor isn't locked up, and I wasn't interested in charging it to see if it worked.I replaced the radio with a Pioneer CD player that has a front Auxiliary input. Also has new Rockford Fosgate 4" x 10" 2-way Speakers in the dash. Both seats have 2 small speakers built into the head rests and were replaced when seats were recovered. Both power windows function perfectly, doors close easily, and weatherstripping is in great shape. All the glass in the car is in excellent shape. The sunroof does not leak, and pops up and down no problem.Under the hood is all original, including the spare tire and jack that came with the car. Both headlight motors are bad though.I have an entire headlight assembly in the trunk that has a good motor though.I haven't went to replace it yet because 1 working headlight doesn't help me any.All the lights on the car work and function as they should though. The shocks are in good shape on the car as well, it rides straight down the road. The wheels are all the original 14" wheels, no curb rash. The tires are ok, but not that great of shape, they are old, and 1 leaks air, takes about a week to go flat though. The trunk carpet is in pretty good shape but could use a cleaning. The stuff you see in the trunk is an extra oil filter. (leftover from a BOGO sale)Also the heat shield that goes on the headers, and the spare headlight motor. And the spare belt that goes on the AC compressor. The body has 213k miles on it. But when I bought the car I was told the engine was rebuilt at about 170k miles. The seats were also recovered about 3-4 years ago said the previous owner.I've owned the car less than a year now.I've recently drove it on a trip to Jacksonville, FL from Panama City, FL, and back again.I got about 28 mpg with it on the interstate. But in the past month it's started having problems. The water pump went bad, so I replaced it, it ran good for a couple days. Then it wanted to always try and run hot after a couple miles or city driving. So I had a mechanic look at it and he said it looks to be a lightly blown head gasket or cracked head.So I took the head off, and then to a machine shop. The head had a very small crack they said. They then shaved the head, fixed the crack, compression checked, and replaced valve stem seals.I bought all new gaskets to put it back together. So I put it back together, no problem. And I burped the coolant system.I checked the piston rings and they all were good. There was never any oil in the water either, or water leaks. It is completely back together, and cranks and drives, and runs smooth, no smoke at all.But it still does the exact same thing it did before I had the head redone.I've lost interest in this car and am working on another project. So this is how the car rests and is sold AS-IS.It is fully drive able up to a couple miles before it starts getting onto the hot side.During this the temperature was never ran all the way into the RED.It would get to about 3/4 of the way at most.I'm not really sure what the problem is.I cannot find a water leak, water in the oil, low compression on cylinders, and it don't smoke. The transmission has never had a problem with me, shifts great.I also believe the idle air sensor is bad because when I first crank it, It idles high, to near 2000 RPM, but as soon as I shift it into gear it goes down to normal. And stays that way the rest of the time, it's been like that a couple months now.The heater core is bypassed, because of a leak in the core. The rest of the engine is complete, nothing missing or rigged up.This car is available for view in Panama City, FL, just message me to arrange a viewing.I have the clear Florida title in hand in my name. This Fiero has a very nice body and interior though for someone looking to put a custom engine in it.Or fix the engine that is in it and keep driving it.It was my daily driver for about 6 months. If you'd like to BUY IT NOW, send me an offer!!! I might take it. Shipping is paid by winning bidder. Delivery, pickup, and shipping can be arranged, message me for information.
