Vehicle Detail
1841 Buick,'Buick Eight', 4 dr model. This vehicle is currently stored in a climate controlled storage unit in North Platte, Nebraska. This Buick was purchased new by my grandfather in 1942, and has been in our family ever since, with clear title. This 41 Buick has nearly all of it's original parts, and has never been restored or modified. A very few parts are missing (steering wheel) and it show signs of age. The general condition is rusty, as it was stored outside for a period of time. However, despite its current aesthetic condition, all of the original parts are there, the metal on most areas is solid (though rusty). Glass is complete, with all trim. Doors, hardware, windows, are present.. All interior hardware (knobs, handles, dash, clock, etc.), are present. The straight eight motor is present, transmission, clutch, brakes and master cylinder, radiator, pulleys, carbuerator, air filter and housing, with all parts are still connected. The crankcase still holds clean oil, battery is present, dual carb, air filter, radiator, etc., appear to be in 'restorable' condition. Bumpers are excellent, guards are present. Undercarriage and associated parts are present, but rusty. Tires are not usable. I had the Buick towed to a storage unit 6 years ago with the intention of attempting restoration. However, due to a change in circumstance (health) I am unable to continue with this plan, and am selling it instead. A buyer MUST be willing to either pick-up and transport the vehicle from where it is by November 1, 2012, - OR- be willing to assume the cost of the storage unit ($55.00 per month) until arrangements can be made for transport. This is a primary part of the terms of this SALE. The successful bidder will be responsible for all costs associated with continued storage and auto transportation from North Platte, Nebraska. The car is not in running condition. It does have many, many, many parts of interest to anyone working on a restoration of a period Buick. It is nearly complete and valuable in that it is a complete and original example of this Buick vehicle.
