Up for bid is a 1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400. It is a project car but the engine and transmission have already been rebuilt. The engine is NOT original and is out of a 1978 Trans Am engine code YU. The engine has been bored 30 over and also has a Ram Air IV Cam in it. Also equipped with headers, holley dominator intake and a Demon carburator. The 4-speed Transmission is also not original, it is a rebuilt M-21 out of a car from 1964-1965. The transmission code is 3851325. The rearend code is CK and is original to the car. It is a 3.42 Rear Gear Open Rearend. All Glass is good in the car, have all 4 original rally wheels for it also. Body is actually in great shape for the year. Needs new rear quarter panels which go with the car and also like new OEM Ram Air Hood. Interior is out of car and do have most of it but seats need to be redone and would probably get new for the rest of it. Floors are all solid and so are all frame rails including the rear. Rockers are solid, Doors solid, and Fenders just have a little rust on the bottoms but can easily be fixed with lower patch panels. Trunk lid looks nice and so does the rear spoiler. Like I said, very solid body to start with. Bought the car out of Missouri about 2 years ago but just have not had the time to stick into it due to too many other projects. Before Missouri the car was located in Colorado which you can tell from the license plate in the pics. Original color to the car is Castillian Bronze Metallic code 67. Original Cowl Id tag still attatched. Recently ordered the PHS documents for the car but have not recieved them yet and probably wont before this auction is over.
