Vehicle Detail
This is a NO RESERVE listing. This is my 1989 Porsche 944 coupe. This is one of the nicest-equpped, best-running and best-driving 944s you will find anywhere. In my opinion you will not find a more desirable 944 for the money anywhere. This car has the 1989-only 2.7L engine, which provided a jump in horsepower and torque over the previous 2.5L engine. This is a truly powerful car, unlike the 2.5L cars which were merely decently-quick. The other major advantage of this particular car is the 944 Turbo body kit, including the front bumper and rear spoiler kit. This car therefore has the same look as the 944 Turbo or 944S2 models, which in my opinion are the best-looking 944s of all. This car also has 911 Turbo-twist style wheels, which really set off the look of the car, and update it to a more modern look. This car turns heads everywhere you go. Pull up with this car and folks think you are more important than you really are! This car also has an newer-style Porsche steering wheel plus the woodgrain interior kit, which makes for a beautiful interior. Compare the interior of this car to the ordinary 944 interior and you will see the difference. This car has JUST had a timing belt service which included both belts, all the rollers plus the water pump. All these parts are new within the last few hundred miles. At the same time, the A/C was checked, serviced, retrofitted and filled with R134a. The air conditioning works perfectly. I have with this car the Certificate of Authenticity directly from Porsche, which details the options this car was built with and the details of its origin. This car has the following equipment and options:2.7L 4-cylinder engine5-speed manual transmissionleather seats with power height adjustA/Chuge removable sunroofcruise controlpower windows and locksanti-lock brakes (the light is illuminated on the dash)Pioneer AM/FM satellite radio/HD radio CD player head unit with remote plus iPod and USB connectors (very nice) I also have the original books and manuals with this car. This is a super-driving, outstanding car. This car is tight, stable, fast and fun. It is truly a pleasure to drive. I would get in this car and drive to California without the slightest hesitation. The car is completely reliable in every way and it needs no known mechanical work. The brakes are good and stop well with no pulsing or grinding. The steering is tight and stable. The car tracks well and has no shimmies, rattles or clunks. The clutch is strong and the manual transmission is tight. This is a particularly TIGHT car, which is not always the case with a 23 year old vehicle. I would say this car is not only perfectly ready to drive anywhere you'd like, it could also be a great track or autocross car, if you wanted. Both headlights go up and down properly and the dashboard clock/lap timer still works great. The interior is in nice condition. The leather seats have held up well and the carpets and upholstery are nice. The passenger seat has split just a bit at the corner seams where the leather has shrunken, one side has been patched. The dash has a few cracks but it looks nice. The interior has the woodgrain kit, which really sets off an otherwise stark interior and makes it look luxurious. I love the interior of this car! The paint and body look beautiful. The paint is glossy, waxed and shiny. The paint quality is very good and quite glossy. When the Turbo nose was installed it was painted and the fenders were blended to match. Therefore the hood is just a tiny shade off in color. There is NO body rust- this has been a no-salt, no-winters car since it was built. The underside is completely solid and clean. There are no major dings, dents nor any major exterior faults. What is does have is normal for the age: small nicks, scratches, etc that have been brush-touched, and other small faults and flaws like you might expect for a 1989. Overall I have to say the exterior looks superb- again it really turns heads everywhere. You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home. You can also have the car shipped; I recommend Angels Moving Autos at 530 245 0481 for shipping. This car is a 1989 and as such it is not brand new. Please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car. Here is a list of any and everything I know of that is wrong with the car that isn't listed above, no matter how minor: The glass in the left front foglight is broken. The front tires are good and the rear tires are worn. Both power windows work great, but the passenger side one only works from the switch on that side. Some plastic trim and pieces are loose on the driver's door and other places in the interior. The odometer works well (rare for these cars) but for whatever reason the miles on the title are marked as non-acutal. The huge sunroof is removable and it is a bit tricky to relatch. If you have questions, email me or call/text me at 440 339 4341On Oct-12-12 at 12:16:43 PDT, seller added the following information: On Oct-20-12 at 11:20:00 PDT, seller added the following information: I suspect the engine mounts ($30 ea on eBay) are somewhat worn/old. There is a bit of engine vibration transmitted at idle only, more noticably when the engine is dead cold (and the mounts are hard). At normal driving rpms there is no vibration. This of course does not affect the reliablity or drivability of the car.
