We always wanted a mid-year Corvette, and since prices on them have been skyrocketing, it's been difficult...if not impossible finding one priced reasonably that was reliable enough to be used daily. Once we got it back to NY, we garaged it and worked on it a little at a time, turning it into what it is today, a beautifully presentable and cool driver. We had it repainted recently (originally code 912 silver/blue) and did some minor things like replace the tires and tune it a little. The electrical system was also gone through, and everything seems to be working (brake lights, headlights, signals, etc). Body is very nice and straight. Doors open and close nicely. Gaps are all good from what I could see and panel fit is pretty good overall for an old Chevy. Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission shifts seamlessly without any noises. Now as for driving the car, i've taken it out mostly around the neighborhood here and there for a few functions, and sometimes we take it camping out of state. Brakes work excellent. Steers nice and swift without much if any play in the wheel. Overall very sound and reliable car that can be used daily if desired. Motor is the correct MATCHING NUMBERS 327ci/250hp with 4 speed Muncie Transmission (this is a rather unusual car because it originally came with a 3 speed manual, and the MATCHING NUMBERS transmission is included with the sale, complete!) Basically all stock with NO upgrades or modifications. Like I said, you could get in and drive this car anywhere in my opinion. I've taken it out of state a few times and it has never let me down. Interior is beautifully presentable for a driver as you can see. I believe it is the original interior and has never been replaced. Everything cleans up nicely and shows well with normal wear and tear you would expect, but no real eye sores. Underside is very nice clean overall, being an original California car. SOLID birdcage, solid frame, and excellent floorboards as well as windshield pillars from what we could see. No real eye sores. THIS 1964 CORVETTE IS NOT PERFECT, SO PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES, ASK QUESTIONS OR COME SEE IT IN PERSON. Paint is in GOOD shape and cleans up fairly well for a driver with normal imperfections. (professionally redone within the last few months, but no a $20k paintjob, although it shows very nicely). Tachometer not working (needle needs replacing). Clock works on and off if you tap it. Bumpers do have some pitting and should be rechromed to bring the car up to the next level. So overall she is nowhere near perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. If you just want a VERY PRESENTABLE DRIVER needing tlc, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some serious investment to bring it up to that level of course.
