NO RESERVE AUCTION 1997 JAGUAR XJR! Up for auction with no reserve is this 1997 Jaguar XJR sedan. This is a highly sought after car. This Jaguar is loaded with options as Jaguar pulled out all the stops on the XJR. This is my fifth Jaguar and was the one I have always wanted however employment situation forces me to sell it before finishing it. I will be as up front and honest in this listing that I can be. This car does need work to be driveable. Please read the entire listing before bidding. I will go over the exterior, then move to the interior, and onto what I know of the mechanical aspect of the car. EXTERIOR: When I purchased this car about 11 months ago, the driver front fender and door had damage. Someone had over extended the door causing damage to both door and fender. I have replaced both with rust free parts from other cars. THEY ARE A DIFFERENT COLOR FROM THE REST OF THE CAR. The metallic black paint on the rest of the car is in decent shape and still has a good shine to it when cleaned up with the exception of minor fading on the roof. There is some signs of body work in the left rear door, but the paint was done decent.All of the trim is still on the car, of course the car has door dings on both sides and a small dent in the back on the back of the trunk not really that noticeable but I'm trying to cover everything here. INTERIOR: The interior is in pretty decent shape. The seats do not have any tears although the driver seat shows wear and the stitching is coming apart on the center of the bottom cushion. The wood on the dash and door panels are in decent shape, some of the typical cracking. The wood on the steering wheel is in pretty bad shape, but the leather still looks good. The headliner is intact but sagging. The center console cupholder is broken and will not stay closed. The stereo works great, this vehicle is equipped with the Harman Kardon stereo system and it sounds great, however the radio is missing the volume knob. MECHANICALS: The car starts right up, and I have driven it a little around town. I believe there is an idle air control valve issue, occasionally the idle will start high and a tap of the throttle will bring it down. I recently replaced the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals and spark plugs. The supercharger is spinning and seems to be fairly quiet, however with the limited amount of driving I have done I cannot tell how much boost it is building. The front brakes have recently had the rotors machined with plenty left on them car has been sitting and with a few stops the little bit that has built up on them should clear up, the rear brakes are the same. Basically from the car sitting the rotors had some rust on them. The trunk release does not work, and the sunroof will tilt but not slide. All of the windows with the exception of one rear window work. All lights appear to be in working order with maybe the exception of a license lamp and a turn signal. Turn signal housing in the front was broken and i have the replacement housing. ABS system needs the ground wires repaired on the front wheel sensors. Looks as though someone let the calipers hang while doing a brake service and they are broken. Driver's side seatbelt does not latch and the cover is off of the receiver end. I have not put any time into looking to see if it can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced. I also believe it needs the auxilary fuel pump replaced, there is a code in the sytem for this fault and the car feels sluggish at higher rpm. I have replaced the TPS sensor on this vehicle as well. Also the air conditioning is not operational, I have not diagnosed anything with this system at all. The spare tire is missing, however the jack and lug wrench are present. One other note is that this car is extremely solid underneath and on top. I believe with the right knowledge and time and a little money that this car could be a great driver for a great bargain. Since puchasing this car I have bought a house and that takes up most of my time. I would not advise driving this car back if you are coming from a long distance. While the car has never left me down I also have not driven it any long distance. And with the obvious seatbelt not working, I couldn't call it safe.
