Vehicle Detail

Alright Mopar fans, here’s one that you don’t see every day. Up for auction is a 1980 Dodge Mirada with the CMX Package. Ma Mopar only built 28,600 of these in 1980 and only 5,384 had the CMX Package. Heck, they only built 52,947 Mirada’s in its short three year run from 1980-1983. When was the last time you saw one and how many do you think are left out there? This one was ordered in the Summer of 1979 by a Dodge Salesman. He spec’d it out exactly the way he wanted it and it was his pride and enjoy until he passed away at 93 years old. That’s when I bought it based off of a couple of grainy pictures and several conversations with his widow and had it transported to my home. When it got here I was overjoyed because it was much nicer than the pictures showed. You will not be disappointed. During the 32 years that he owned this Mirada he only put on 14,000 miles. That is not a misprint folks, only 14,000 original documented miles on this garage kept Mirada. This car is the last link to the V8, Rear Wheel Drive Mopars. You’ll notice the familiar K-Car looking front grille that was totally unique for the era. As a Mopar guy I have always admired these cars and have never seen another one with a white interior and blue dashboard and carpet combination, it seemed like every one was always that reddish-maroon color. This car is rust free and in excellent condition for a 32 year old car. It runs good, sounds good, and looks good, with no mechanical issues whatsoever. This Mirada is fully inspected, roadworthy and ready to go. All lights, wipers, radio, etc. and power options (seat, windows, defrosters) function exactly as they should, it is currently on the road and fully inspected. It was dealer converted from the Lean Burn System to a two-barrel carburetor setup. This baby still has factory chalk marks on the fire wall and interior fender wells under the hood. Take it out and drive it and show it as soon as you get it, no delayed gratification while having to correct anything. It will certainly draw a crowd and most folks will have no idea what it is. You could take this car straight to Carlisle and park it in the "Survivors" tent right now. Comes with a service manual, service records and a car cover. If you want to get into the Mopar game with a low mileage, low production, rare, V8, 2 door, numbers matching, all original, sport coupe, but you don’t want to take out a mortgage on it, this is the car for you to invest in. Thanks for looking and best of luck.
