Up for Auction is a 1949 GMC 3/4 ton longbed truck with a complete frame-off restoration. This truck was a barn find that has not been used since 1970 and prior to that, was only used on a feed lot in Romney, WV. Although it only had 6400 miles on the odometer, it did need a total restoration of the body and engine. The engine is a 270, which was rebuilt with all new parts, and the transmission is a 4 speed. This is an eight lug truck and 3/4 ton, which means the frame is 1/16 of an inch thicker than the 1/2 ton. The frame was blasted and the zinc coated for a very long rust free future. The brake system was upgraded to a dual master cylinder system and all new parts were installed. The body was blasted, acid dipped and then zinc coated. All rust was removed, cut out and replaced with new metal. The fenders, bed, running boards, tires, rims, bed wood, lights, battery, grille and bumper are all new parts. The interior has many new parts such as new windows, weather stripping, radio, seat, gauges, door covers, handles, cranks and mirrors. The truck has the following upgrades: 12 Volt negative ground system with an HEI distributor, new gm alternator, 12 volt starter, turn signal system, retro style radio with MP3 player hookup and an updated fuse block. I drive the 150 approx. 3 miles everyday (to my business and back). Everything on her is either new or rebuilt.
