ORIGINAL WITH LOTS OF POTENTIAL! This is a true survivor that looks original. Age is taking it's toll, but this golden goodie has has great bones offering tremendous potential to be a show piece with the right restoration. But, you can drive it around just as it is. The 235 six cyl. motor has been professionally rebuilt to new standards, with no expense spared and IT purrs like a kitten. The Powerglide transmission, also rebuilt, is smooth as new. The motor and transmission are not yet broken in. We have only driven it a few miles since all that work. I have a long list of the parts and procedures done to the engine and transmission by the professionals. The interior is original, with the dash in very nice condition. I don't know how many gauges really work, but it even includes the clock. The dash trim will shine up beautifully. The seats and interior parts will need to be reupholstered, but all the cushions except the front seat cushion foam and trim are all reusable. The seat trim could use some minor work and a good repolishing. The top well liner is gone, and the top, while still quite in tact, needs replacement. The floor mats are original, but quite distressed by age. The top frame is in excellent condition, with the latches in good shape. The sun visors need recovering, but work just the same. The rear view mirror is the day/night upgrade. Also, note the fender mirrors, which are in good shape. The previous owner replaced the gas tank and exhaust when he had the motor and transmission work done. The pictures show some rust holes in the trunk. I think they could be repaired without replacing the whole trunk pan. The inner quarter panels have rust holes and will need replacing.I have not pulled the floor mats out to check the floors from the top, but after inspecting from underneath the car, I found a small area under the right side of the rear seat and another in the right side of the rear floor board near the rocker. There is a small area of rust in the driver side floor pan near the inner rocker as well. Otherwise, they appear pretty good. From what I can see underneath, the undercoating is in mostly place and the only other rust holes I noticed were some small ones in a few of the floor braces next to the inner rockers. There are rust holes in the inner and outer quarter panels at the bottom, all very repairable using readily available patch panels and sheet steel. The inner and outer rockers need replacing.The doors have minor rust in the bottoms and a few dings. The glass in the doors is cracked, but the rest looks ok. The windows go up and down, but the vent window and full window on the driver's door will need some work on the regulators. Note the small rust holes on the drivers side just behind the door where the quarter panel and door jamb join. There are some small holes under the trim molding around the top of the quarter panels, as well as the trunk opening by the weatherstrip. The hood, left front fender and trunk lid have been replaced with good, solid used ones. Some finish work will be needed to make them perfect. The left front fender has rust out above the headlights next to the hood. Even though some of the trim is not in the pictures, It does exist. Some of it will need some work to get the little dings out and shine it up again.
