It's part of what I do. I buy cars in almost any condition, as long as the price is right. BENT BROKEN BURNT – I BUY THEM ALL Most of the cars I get are sold for scrap. Some are parted out, then scrapped. Then some are like this, in overall good condition, with some mechanical problems. I pay more for these vehicles with the intent to repair, then resell, or just resell. This one falls into the second category, a nice looking car that just needs some work, but not something that we will get involved with. Previous owner stated that this car has a bad engine. I made an offer & he accepted. When we towed it in, the car would run, but the engine is very noisy. I checked the oil & coolant levels, both were full. Upon further examination, we noted that the engine is very noisy & seems to be backfiring up into the intake manifold. The engine will start & run, but will not idle. The car will move in gear, but with the way the engine sounds, has not been driven for any distance. Also, a "CHECK ADVANCETRAC" message is displayed in the information center on the dashboard. Several customers have looked at this car as they passed through here over the last few weeks. I have heard opinions ranging from broken timing chain guides, with jumped cams, all the way to the engine has thrown several rods & has completely come apart inside. Please look & listen to the video of the engine running, to get an idea of the severity of the problem. I am in no way confirming any of these opinions. THIS CAR NEEDS ENGINE WORK THE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED BEFORE THE CAR CAN BE DRIVEN Overall - This car seems to be in very good condition - Except for the engine The car can not be driven & will need to be towed from my location. I can help load. I am sure that I have not covered everything. I only spent about an hour with the vehicle. I do not have a lift, so I can't be sure of anything underneath.
