Vehicle Detail

This auction listing is for one 1959 Triumph TR-3 Custom Coupe Roadster Frame Off Full Restoration. Let me start with the why of me selling this beautiful creature. My father and I started this project 12 years ago and we got to roughly a 90% completion point in this restoration/build but the project came to a stand still due to my father's medical conditions and my financial misfortune. This is the only reason for the hard choice of me putting this awesome car up for auction. Now that I got the why established, on to the history, stats and information of what has been done, what is included and what needs to be done with this car. ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN The engine was taken down to a longblock. All the internals were cleaned, the valves were adjusted and all the gaskets were replaced with new except for the head gasket. I installed an upgraded camshaft pre-oiler line as well as a spin on oil filter adapter kit to get rid of the old cartridge type filter. The car could use a tune up as it has been sitting for so long. Included with the auction but not installed for this is a new Cap/Rotor/Points/Condensor/Wires and 3 out of the 4 Spark Plugs. The fuel pump could use a rebuild also due to the time sitting. The carbs were rebuilt but also due to the time sitting could use a good cleaning and I have the kits included in this auction as well for that. Two brand new K&N Air Filters have been installed as well as a new High Performance & High Torque Starter. Also installed is a complete Falcon Exhaust Stainless Steel exhaust system. The manifold is OEM but from there back has been replaced with the Falcon Stainless system. The whole clutch system has been replaced as well with a brand new Pressure Plate/Clutch Disc/Pilot Bearing/Throw Out Bearing and the flywheel was resurfaced. A new clutch Slave Cylinder was installed (it took me a $27.00 phone call to England directly to get this part ordered and shipped!!) and it has new stainless steel braided lines installed in with it. The Transmission has been gone through by a professional and it is rock solid. The rear output seal has a minor leak however I have a brand new seal included with the auction as I did not get to replace that yet. The rear Drive Shaft is solid and good to go and has been checked out. The rear end system in the car is also rock solid and it has a small pinion seal leak that I also did not get to replace yet, however I also have the brand new seal for that included as well. Also inlcuded with the auction is another complete rear end system that I intended to install as it is the one from Triumph that uses the better rear braking system. Along with that rear end system to go with it I have all new Brake Shoes/Hardware/Wheel Cylinders to get it up and running. I also the set of brake drums that go with it, they are not new but they are solid and just need a good cleaning but they do not need to be turned on a machine. BRAKES The front brake system has brand new cross drilled and vented rotors and the stock OEM dual piston calipers and new pads. The rear brake system that is in the car currently has been gone through and is all solid and working properly. However it is the system that is less desireable for the car, thus the whole complete rear end system with brand new brake components that I described above and will be included with the auction. All the brake lines were replaced/installed with Stainless Steel hard lines and Braided Stainless Steel hoses from the front of the car to the back. The Emergency Brake Cables are all new and have been installed as well. SUSPENSION & STEERING The front suspension is solid and good to go as is. The springs and shocks are solid and full of life. However I have and I am including with this auction the following new parts: Rubber Bushings/Idler Arm/Extra Tie Rod Ends/Drag Link with Upgraded Performance Nylon Pivot Bushings and Pins. I had a custom built steering shaft built and installed so I could utilize a quick release steering wheel. This was what I wanted to use and may not be what anyone else wants so I am also including with the auction the OEM Adjustable Steering Column/Shaft/Steering Wheel/Horn Controls and Turn Signal System. The rear leaf springs are in great solid shape as well as the shocks. The axle limiter straps are present and in great shape. FUEL SYSTEM The OEM fuel cell was removed and I installed an after market performance Fuel Safe Fuel Cell in the trunk of the car with all new Stainless Steel Braided Aeroquip Fuel Lines and Fittings from the front to rear. I also have two of the OEM fuel tanks I am including with the auction if you wanted to replace the system I installed. INSTRUMENTS & ELECTRICAL The Oil/Fuel/Water and Volt Meters have been replaced with aftermarket Auto Meter Gauges but I also have the OEM gauges that I removed from the car that I am including with the auction. The Tachometer & Speedometer are OEM and fully functional. The engine electrical is complete. All of the light fixtures are brand new except for the headlights (which are in perfect working shape) however they need to be wired into the system. INTERIOR & COVERS The interior has not been finished and is about 90% complete. I have the OEM seats, door panels, rear panel (installed), coping (installed), dash panel (installed), glove box door (installed). I DO NOT have the carpet or the quarter panel trims. The shifter boot is not new but it is in excellent shape. The E-Brake boot is brand new as well as the closing hardware for it (not installed). I have a brand new never installed (needs buttons and snaps installed into it) Tonneau Cover (white in color) that is new but needs to be cleaned. The top is complete with side curtains and the fold up support frame but they are in rough shape. I never intended to use the OEM top, frame and curtains so I did not bother to replace them but I am including them in the auction. All of the rubber on the windshield is brand new. The windshield and frame itself are not new but they are in excellent shape and the glass has no chips or cracks. EXTERIOR The body was completely removed from the chassis. The chassis was cleaned, inspected and then painted with frame paint. Extensive work has been done with the body. Any rusty piece was removed then repaired or replaced, sand blasted and then painted. The body pieces that are new are as follows: Inner Quarter Panels/All Rear Inner Closing Panels, Complete Rear Apron, Complete Floor Boards, Outer Sub-Frame Re-Enforcements, Outer Rocker Panels, Inner Front Closing Panels, and ALL Body Mounts. All body panels that were used as replacements were OEM direct fit replacements. All seams were sealed with 3M Seam-Sealer and the whole underbody was undercoated with a thick black layer of Undercoat. Everything on the outer part of the body was epoxy primed with a base coat and clear coat outer finish with a beautiful metallic silver flake finish. Minimal filler was used to complete this car. NO BONDO or halfway "cheap" fixes here!!! The front and rear bumpers were shaved. The fender and rear apron seams were shaved and the doors were shaved (and completely shut off forever to never open again) to create one continuous sleek and sexy body line that keeps going all the way around the car. I also have two brand new OEM Chrome Mirrors for the car that were never installed but are brand new in the boxes. The hood and trunk hinges are mint and fully functional and have a perfect chrome finish. The DZUS Fasteners are mint, fully functional and have a perfect chrome finish as well. The car also has the DZUS T-Key with it. Due to the no door fact is the reason I installed the custom steering shaft and removeable wheel to make it easier to get in and out of the cockpit. All the body work was professionally done with well over $3,000 in material invested. HISTORY When I bought the car initially, it did not come with any VIN ID Tags. The person I bought the car from gave me his "Bill of Sale" receipt from the guy he bought it from. Due to the fact that it did not have the VIN ID Tags, the car was titled after I got the car using the engine number for the VIN number through the Wisconsin DMV. The title is CLEAR with NO issues. I also have a the two new aluminum VIN ID tags that go under the hood of the car. Both of these tags have not been installed, nor have they had the information stamped into them. AND they are Triumph OEM tags! I also have a notebook packed full of the receipts that I have aquired and saved since I bought the car and through the restoration of the car. Also included are two original and OLD Service manuals to got with the auction. You will be getting all of this with this auction. Basically, this car is almost ready to go. All the heavy grunt work has been done. All it needs is someone else with the same love, passion and care to take over what I started. I will miss it greatly and I hope that its new owner will do it justice! There is so much to mention here that I am sure I have missed something. Among the other things you get with the car that I already listed, you are also getting more spare parts such as another set of steel wheels, OEM hubcaps with the Triumph Globe center badge (need to be re-chromed), all the appropriate Triumph Badging, original Triumph shift knob and more. Please feel free to ask questions at any time about anything and if you want more pictures, please let me know as I have a total of 48 pictures on hand but I could only list 24 with this listing (I can also take more if you want something specific). I also have A LOT of spare parts for this car that it does not NEED to be finished but could come in handy to its new owner. The new owner will have the first offer to make me for anything he or she wants out of the lot before I start listing up the spare parts after this car sells. Among these parts there are windshields and frames, doors, door panels, front suspension parts, springs, front rotors and hub assemblies, over $300 in engine gaskets (including a new head gasket), steering wheel, 2 transmissions (one has a cracked bell housing but the internals can go into the empty trans housing I have), seals, trims, sets of rear shocks and front springs, steering gear box and components, Performance Aluminum Engine Mount Plate to reduce weight, Performance Aluminum Intake Manifold for better and more direct flow and more! What you see is basically what you get (minus the parts that I will be selling later but the winner will have first offer at when they pick up the car). You all know how much these cars are worth as well as the parts for these cars are worth. Therefore I am starting this auction out at a ridiculously low low price and there will be NO RESERVE on this auction so Happy Bidding. The winner of the auction must make a $500.00 deposit down via Pay Pal within 24 hours of the auction ending. Full payment is expected within a week after the auction ends. The car will be available for local pick up or if you want to arrange to have it shipped, then go ahead. I can help load up the car and parts but I will not be responsible to make arrangements for shipping. If you need more time to come and get the car, or if you need me to store it, or if you need more than a week to get the funds into place CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID ON THIS AUCTION!! Thanks for looking and have a great day.
