Vehicle Detail
Im selling a 1031 that i bought for a "friend" more than 2 years ago and he has never paid for it. I have waited long enough, patiently storing it in my shop, now its time for it to go. The truck has 28905 miles on it and is in great condition. The drivers door has the standard dent from our hard working Army forklift drivers and the drive shaft was ruined as well. I have replaced the drive shaft with a brand new balanced unit from South-Bay Drive line. The batteries are also new, the truck fires right up and drives like a dream. It should, it doesnt even have 30k miles on it yet! By most peoples account the motor is not even broken in yet. If you do not know much about these trucks then i suggest you prepare to be impressed if you are looking for a hard working truck to get the job done no matter where it is. They have the 6.2 diesel which is known to get more than 20 mpg under most conditions. Unfortunately you lose horsepower, but everything is a trade-off i suppose. The transmission is a TH400, one of the strongest transmissions out there. The transfer case is a NP205, the beefcake of all transfer cases. BEEFCAKE!!!! Front axle is a Dana 60. Rear axle is a 14bolt full floater with a Detroit locker. Axles have 4.56 gears which is a good compromise for off roading to pavement driving. Since i bought this truck for a friend i have done all the needed work to it so she is ready for the road. The stock square fuel filter which is wracked with problems has been replaced with a much larger, less expensive, and better micron rating Wix 33005 filter. So no need to worry about water getting in your fuel system or air leaks stranding you in the middle of nowhere. The OEM filter setup is included with the truck if you want it. I havent thrown it away yet and realize some people want a bone stock truck, so it is yours if you want it and can be easily swapped back. No permanent mods have been made, but i dont know why anyone would want to deal with that crappy filter again. Your choice. The starter relay has been upgraded with the doghead relay mod, which is a pretty good option for any CUCV to ensure your starter does not stay engaged. Thanks Steelsoldiers.com! The tires are 33/12.5/16.5 on American Racing aluminum rims, balanced and ready to take you nearly anywhere. This truck comes with a 14KW generator that is PTO driven and supplies 120v-15amp single phase, 208v-15amp single phase or 208v-45amp three phase power. The generator works well, and engine keeps it right in the RPM range it needs to be. It also has an on board twin cylinder air compressor and air tank that works great. There are three portable work lights, although the housing for one of the lights is missing. I have not tested the work lights. Everything on the truck is in good working order. All exterior lights work, glow plug system works, truck runs great and starts right up. There is a small oil leak from the rear mail seal of the motor which is pretty standard for these 6.2 motors. It has been parked for about 3 weeks now and the oil spot is about the size of a quarter, no big deal but i will mention everything i can think of. This is not a show truck, there are a few dents, marks and scratches here and there, but the truck is in great shape for a 1986. Bid with confidence, i will offer to refund your money if you are not satisfied with the truck, minus the $500 deposit. Ask any questions you like, or come drive it if you are in the area. 95037, Morgan Hill Ca. I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere. I recently bought and drove one to a friend in Austin and it was a rather nice drive. I got 23 mpg on the 1800 mile trip, just FYI. Payment due within 1 week of auction close unless other arrangements have been made. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 3 days of auction close. I will offer to deliver the truck within California, Nevada, Oregon for $0.50 per mile from 95037 to cover my fuel cost if you dont want to deal with transport. (17 MPG in my duramax, $4 per gallon, to and from) For example Portland Or to 95037 is about 700 miles. Multiply that by $0.50 and you will pay $350 for me to deliver it to Portland. This is after payment has been made, the delivery cost is to be paid up front and is not refundable. Or you can fly in and drive it home! :) UPDATE!!! This is being re-listed because last time it was sold the truck was not registered, i only supplied the truck with the Government paperwork that i got when i purchased it and a bill of sale. It was sold and the happy buyer drove it to Colorado where unfortunately he could not register it, as the original paperwork was in my name. I drove out to Colorado, refunded his money and towed the truck home. The truck is now registered. I went to the DMV 13/Aug and got it registered, it is now wearing Ca plates and i have the title in hand. As a footnote, i asked how the truck drove on his 1200 mile route and he said it drove great, with no problems. So bid with confidence, no reserve and the truck is now registered in my name. All the fee's have been paid and no surprises.
