Vehicle Detail

For Sale. 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe. Car by the numbers. Vin- 8R01Cxxxxxx 65A Q 2B 18A 72 2 7 This car lived it life on the west coast. It is a very straight and original car. really rust Free. Much of the original metal is on the car. Clear Title, numbers match on right fender, dash tag and door tag. the engine does too The car is ready to be paint in the color of your choice This car is near the finish of the project. If any metal needed to be replaced ..it was. The Mustang has a light coat of a top of the line self-etch primer. There are still some low spots to be finished on the body, but the hard work has been done. Both rear quarters are new. They were nicely spot whelded the way it came from the factory.. the doors, ft fenders hood and deck lid, and floors, are all original as far as I can tell and very strong. The rails and torque boxes are also very strong all the way around. The engine seems to be original. We started it up in September 2012. it runs great, good compression. This was the first time the car was fired up in years and you should be very happy, it should not have to be rebuilt. I started it with the key. A battery does not come with the car. The engine bay is solid. I think one of the aprons was replaced and done nicely All the fuild levels were intact. You will want to change them to new fuilds. The gas is new, and the car ran off the gas tank with no leaked, NEW fuel pump. I made this youtube video of it. Follow this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAE4bE1y7Yw&feature=youtu.be The carb needs to be rebuilt. The alternator needs to be wired up. The Transmission seems fine . I have never run the car on the road. All the lines are on the car and could/should work. The car will have to be towed, then you will need to check everything for safety before you put it back on the road., but it should not take much. There is a power steering unit will come with the car . I can send you a picture of it. The car pushes and steering around easily and nicely. The tires are all good ( just mismatched ) Interior is an original set but to a black car. I think the original color was blue. The driverside seat needs new skins. The dash has not been hooked up yet and the car needs anew headliner. The glass looks original. All those windows work. The back glass is not sealed. I was going to put a headliner in and paint it before we sealed it back in. The front glass is sealed. I know that I have missed something but I can not think of anything. The pictures should fill in any blanks. I had fully intented to finish the car off but I now have other things to do and I need to sell the car. IT IS A GREAT project car to work on. I hate to sell it. Very straight, Door close nicely. Good lines. You can paint it any color combination, that why I am selling it in primer. The sanded down the red primer and put this coat of self etching primer to protect the metal. There should be NO surface rust worries. and red you see in any of the pictures is not rust it is that red oxy primer base coat. The underside of the car is wonderful and solid. Please feel free to contact me and come see the car in person if needed before the end of the auction. The Final bid is the winning and binding bid. There is no reserve on the car so the car will sell. I do reserve the right to end the sale early if needed because I will list the car locally too. I intent on selling the car hee nd now on ebay. The car is being sold as is. Again come see the car in person before the end. There is nothing to hide, It a wonderful find, very straight car. IT was brought to Michigan from out west. never driven here., no salt no winters. . There is work to be done yet to the car but not a ton. 99% of the parts are with the car. The chrome is nice, and the original parts are is good condition I can help load it, transportation is totally up to the buyer. Thanks for looking and bidding I have tons of pictures that I can send you. Lots of pictureOn Sep-30-12 at 16:22:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I have the following original parts. Headlight and buckets. All the chrome trim, including outside rocker chrome, and the original wide chrome in insert chrome for the front grill. All of the chrome is in excellent condition. The PS pump, I also have the scuff sills. I have a couple of boxes of item that will be in the trunk. items that you have need or will have doubles of. Allmost everthing you need is here. Great car. Someone asked me the original color.. I think it was blue. but of course you can paint it any color you want.On Sep-30-12 at 16:33:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I am missing the rear left rear corner fender extension as you can see from the picture. They are easy to find either original or aftermarket.. The dash has not been cut up at all and the radio bezel is near perfect. not sure if the radio works. Battery apron is great. I'll be filling up the brake master cylinder this week to see if the brake will pump up for the new buyer. On Oct-06-12 at 17:23:25 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer the questions I have: Yes I have a free and clear title in my name. I brakes stop the car in the driveway when I pushed the car. The brake fluid is now full and no leaks in the lines. There is a very small oil drip from the engine bay which might have been from the valve coves when we had them off when we ran the engine and were checking the valves. There is a power steering slave cylinder that is correctly attached to the steering. The pump is off the car and nicely restored ready to put back on. I think I may have those ps lines also. I have the old headliner with the medal listings in the correct sleves. I have keys for the car. the ignition key works (thats how we started the car) it just not the original ignition key and cylinder. The door open and close like a dream. they are original and line up very nicely. Any welding that was dones was done with spot welds like originals. The car is rock solid. IPlease ask me any other questions if needed or I also can send pictures if you send me your direct email
