Elite Auto Group Presents this 1974 Triumph TR6 Roadster. This car is a keeper, a true survivor; with original paint and equipment right down to the Michelin red-line tires. The working odometer reads just less than 58,500 miles. The previous owner purchased the car in the late 70s with 30,000 miles and rarely drove it during his ownership. The original Maple brown lacquer (paint code 73) is in great shape for its age, showing few minor chips & scratches. It shines beautifully in person and in the pictures. There is no evidence of any paint work done other than some touch up to some stone chips. Checking inside the doors jams will show you the originality of the paint and between body panels shows only the factory red oxide primer, Click here for pictures. The doors close nicely and windows roll up & down smoothly. The convertible top is a new reproduction unit installed this spring. It has the correct reflector material and the fit & finish is great. A convertible top boot is included that matches the interior color. The dash is excellent with no cracks, all the gauges, lights and signals work (really!) Interior The interior has been recently redone, all is new. YES Original 1974 Triumph TR6 Roadster with new front and rear carpets, new shifter knob, new convertible top (zipper back window), new sun visors, new trunk carpet as well. Pictures are available to show you the original floor boards with no rust as well as the trunk floor and side walls, Click here for pictures. The engine compartment is the same. (Amazing!!!) Prior to installing new interior the wear on the interior had years of careful use. Even the carpet was original till this month! A roll bar was added at some point years ago. Engine Under the hood is also very original: the cardboard radiator shroud is still intact, and some of the hoses are still the green Leyland pieces. The inline 6 starts and idles nicely with no smoke or unusual noises. The choke has been adjusted and a new cable was installed. The 4-speed transmission is in good working order and goes through the gears well. Steering is tight and the hood release cable and handle is new. Also there is new insulation on the underside of the hood. Under Carriage Additional pictures are available of the undercarriage, Click here for pictures. As you can see from these pictures, the frame and undercarriage are in excellent shape. The floor pans show red primer and the frame is also completely rust free. The rear differential bushings & ears are intact with no signs of damage. The front suspension was rebuilt recently and the car was treated to new brake & clutch hydraulics at that time. Hardtop comes with the Vehicle A factory steel hardtop is included with the sale. The paint is in good condition and the windows are installed. The interior head-liner is missing, but theyre available though a few different aftermarket suppliers. This is a nice, original Triumph that would make a great addition to any collection. Road ready for the summer season. And Yes…The original paint and no rust on the frame, no rust on the pan, and no rust on the panels! And just a few minor imperfections in the paint. It really makes this collector special, as there are so many repaints out there where there is poor masking jobs with over spray on the weather strips etc. The door jams are nice and clean, and the trunk area is like new (Amazing!!!) The weather stripping is nice around the windshield, and the engine compartment is sweet. Nice and clean. The engine is tight as a drum and cosmetically immaculate as well. A little back ground on these Triumph TR6 Classics, as this one is a serious keeper. These Triumphs were introduced in 1969 as a replacement for the TR5/TR250. The TR6 featured similar running gear components and chassis as its predecessor but incorporated new external styling. The updated styling, courtesy of Karman of Germany, allowed for more cargo capacity in the rear of the vehicle when compared with previous models. The doors and the center section remained unchanged from the TR4 and TR5 models. The interior comfort and drivability of the TR6 made it a highly successful British sports car. It was similar to the TR4 and TR5 with quality trim and a walnut dash. The TR6 was fitted with a 2498 cc, six-cylinder inline engine. Now back to the one and only... This 1974 TR6 Roadster runs and drives incredibly. It is exciting, fun and allows for serious pride of ownership. It brings you back to the day. One handsome true British sports car with (yes) the original paint an awesome color combination paint code 73 brown, trim code 33 tan. This is a real collector’s car, and a true classic roadster!
