Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1958 Corvette Convertible with the original Hardtop I just removed last week from a garage after it was parked in the summer of 1983 (29 Years). This car was a 2 owner car with me being the third since last week. I have the registrations from back in the 70's. This is a project car and needs full registration. The frame has rust scale throughout and there are 2 rust holes thru in front of the rear wheels that will need repair, also the core support that holds the radiator will need to be replaced due to rust. All the rest of the frame seems solid as well as the rear spring hanger at the back of the car is in nice shape. Again the frame is scaly. (see pictures) The tires will hold air for a few days then go flat. I was told the motor was not original by the previous owner (who owned since 1978) he said it was a 1965 327 motor. The transmission has a Hurst shifter, but I believe the transmission is it not original (it is cast iron and not aluminum). The car ran and drove in 1983 when it was parked but now the motor seem to be seized from sitting and I cannot get shifter to move due to the motor not turning over. Paint is old and weathered but the body seems to be undamaged. The doors open and close real nice but the hood does not latch due to the latch cable is stuck. All the bumpers are solid, but the chrome will need to be re-plated (bumpers, grill, etc...) Interior is not to bad and seats are not tore but during restoration I'm sure everything will have to be gone through to make it nice. There is a convertible top that I have not lifted up, but pretty sure it will need to be replaced do to years sitting. The hard top is real nice shape the headliner is in excellent shape and the back window is in real nice shape too. I have five hub caps that were in the trunk that have dings and scratches. The original Vin tag is in place on the driver's door pillar and a free and clear title in my name. I am trying to be as honest as possible with this car and again this is a full restoration project that is 100% complete car or it would be a great body to make a Resto-Mod project, if this is what you prefer. This is a no reserve auction and high bidder will win. Local buyers are welcome to inspect prior to bidding. Sold "as is" with no warranty. Full payment due within 7 days after auction is completed. Cash is preferred at pick-up. If out of state and cannot pick up and pay a cashiers check will be OK but car will not be released until cashiers check clears my bank. Will store the car up to 3 weeks after auction is completed. Will assist anyway possible on to help load on a trailer if car will need to be shipped and buyers are to make all shipping arrangements.
