Vehicle Detail

If your considering the purchase of the vehicle listed for sale on eBay in the Tucson area with the description of this ad, I'll sell you the inspection report I completed for this vehicle which shows significant body damage to the front and rear bumper covers that the person selling the vehicle does not disclose in their ad, and they never told me about this damage when I contacted them, and asked specifically if there was any other body damage. I agreed to purchase the vehicle for $9,000 not knowing about this damage. If it didn't have the damage, this was a fair price because it was listed on eBay and it never sold to the last bidder at $8,990. I did my research and determined at $9,000 without any significant body damage, it would be a good deal. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION FOR THE VEHICLE, IT'S FOR THE INSPECTION REPORT ON THIS VEHICLE. Note, the eBay ad says "No Rust", yet the inspection report clearly shows sign of rust on the bottom of the right front door.Once you confront them about the damage they may tell you the same thing they told me, that I was nit picking about damage that you can't see, or that you have to have a magnifying glass to see. The seller may try to tell you the damage wasn't worth noting because they were just small scratches, which I find not to be true. In my opinion, and the inspector's opinion, the damage to the bumpers are tears through the entire surface of the bumper covers from impact damage, not just scratches. According to a body shop who saw the report and the pictures the inspector took, the damage cannot be repaired by just fixing the current bumpers. They said the bumper covers must be replaced, and painted to match. Estimates I received were in excess of $1,500 just for the covers, not including removal of the existing bumpers, installation of the new bumpers, and painting to match, which was estimated at an additional $450 per bumper. So total cost to repair would be around $2,500, then you'd have a $9,000 or maybe $9,500 vehicle.Note the expense of the bumpers is higher than after market standard S430 bumpers because these are AMG body kits, very expensive and only available from 1 source. Also note, I believe this is just an S430 with AMG body panels and wheels, it does not have the AMG engine upgrades, although the headline of the ad might lead you to believe it is a full AMG version. Take heed to any comments in the ad that say it's just AMG body panels, that's an important difference to determining value. A true AMG version would be worth much more.Based on the results of the third party inspection that I had done, the rest of the vehicle is in very good condition, but you need to be aware of the significant cost to repair the bumper covers. Pictures are from the inspection report itself, which I have added to this listing.Curiously, the seller listed the car with only the following small faults: Faults: The drink holder is broken, There is a small ding on driver fender about dime size, and a small ding on the rear truck if you look close, just typical wear & tear stuff here & there but in amazing condition. The car is 12 yrs old but still looks darn near new.So why aren't the tears to the bumper covers mentioned, when they took the time to mention a dime size ding in the left front fender? Be careful, the seller tried to belittle me because I took issue with significant damage, and he will probably do the same once he sees this ad. Here's one of his responses in an email to me "You obviously have financial and marriage issues that I dont want to be involved with. Good luck in your life. I want no further communication from you. You are now harrassing me. Another email from you and I will turn you into ebay." Curious, not a shred of defense for why he did not disclose significant damage, just a lot of mud throwing to deflect the real issues. I see this as typical of someone who's been caught doing something wrong and doesn't want to explain their actions, just confuse the issue with things that make absolutely no sense at all.The facts of the inspection report speak for themselves. If you'd like to purchase the full report that I had InspectMyRide do, just let me know and we can work out a payment option through PayPal. Pictures below are just 4 from the full report, which is quite detailed. Or, you could just ask the seller to be upfront and give you the report for free, since I gave them the report too! Curious, were you offered the report in their ad?
