1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible Hello and welcome to my auction. I am offering this classic Super beetle convertible at No Reserve and I am risking losing a lot of money but it seems that if you don't remove the reserve no one will even bid , even if the deal is out of this world. Ok we are going to keep this very short and sweet . This is the first year of the Super beetle and has the long hood which is very desireable and what we have done is made the car look older then what it even is by using 1967 and back blade bumpers with bumper guards and bumper brackets to match. I found this beetle painted this way with the two tone red and white with red and white custom seats. From what I understand ,this car was never driven after it was restored and sat in the beating sun out here in California and over the years it is had minor scratches in the paint from sitting and being moved from point to point but the body is in excellent condition and the floor pans are brand new with no patches and was professionally installed. The engine that will be included installed and turn key ready is a rebuilt 1600 cc dual port AE code motor mileage is very low . I did not personally rebuild the engine but it was rebuilt at a Volkswagen shop in Bakersfield, California and it has a new clutch and new fly wheel. The generator and carbuator are also new and when I say new, I just bought the carb and generator monday and just installed it. The rims are in excellent condition and are worth around $600.00 alone and the tires are used . I want to keep this ad very simple and will be adding more pictures and video of it driving around tonight and tomorrow . In my opinion this should be a $5,000.00 to $8,000.00 car by just what I have seen selling and I have well over $5,000 in it . The convertible top will only be installed if the bidding goes over $4,500.00 one penny less and the convertible top will be included in a box with the headliner as well as new rubber seal for back window. A new convertible top with new bows , seals ,headliner ,padding and top material with all the rubbers would run you easily $2,500.00 to have it installed so this is an excellent deal but if you want to cut some corners or drive it with the top down until you can afford to have it installed that is fine with me also. I try to offer my hand to help people who don't know how to do these things and find out the hard way that it is not easy or cheap but if you think I am doing this over night or will be rushed as it does take sometime to get the tops to fit as they should be and adjustment including back window takes time. If you are in a huge rush it maybe best to do it yourself. Regardless the convertible top installed is only included if the bidding is over $4,500.00.I have both white and black convertible tops and it will be the winning bidders choice. There is a light bend in the drivers side upper corner that I will picture and nothing out of the ordinary and very easy fix as stated scratches here and there but you are not buying a show car or a show and shine this is just my opinion a beach crusier . The front windshield was broken and I have a brand new one that will be installed and included for the new owner at no extra cost, all the other windows are in good used condition. We do not require a deposit but ask for a phone call at end of auction to let me know your intentions and to work out the fine details. I have found out the hard way that I can not require buyer to pay immediatly for deposit so I just simply just won't ask for any. You will receive an email with all our contact information after auctions end and before payment is sent we will put winning bidders name,that days date, and if there is something news worthy we will add that to a posterboard picture and video the title and the Vin once all the particulars have been done we ask for full payment whatever that maybe .If for any reason the car becomes unoperational before pick up we will not leave you hanging and make sure it runs as it did the day we made the listing and anything and everything that it needs before it leaves will be done but once it hits the transporters I can no longer be responsible for anything as the last transporter ran straps over the fuel lines and pulled them down not knowing beetles . So I can not be held responsible once the car leaves my property . I do a complete walk around and the car driving on the transporter for the owner and my records . If though in the odd chance that something would happen the day it leaves or in the possession of the transporter but not yet on the trailer , we will cover the transporters cost not to exceed $200.00 and repair whatever is needed for instance , a switch went out before the transporter picked up the car and it was a $30.00 part but when it got to Arkansas the buyer was very upset . I will not be put in that position again and I will simply tell the transporter to go on and replace the part if needed and pay the driver . Nobody in this business does what we do . These are used vehicles and most won't air the tires up or make sure you have a charged battery . We do not do that and hope everything goes smoothly as 90% does and I do a lot of word of mouth business. I am not a dealer and only do a very few cars a year. You can see on the air cleaner where the engine was rebuilt . I want to make a note here . I would want $2,000.00 just for the engine and a complete turn key engine would run you around $2,800.00 with new carb,generator , fuel pump etc. I am behind on the videos but I will have video of the car driving around just ask for the link.
